Sometimes not all fashion trends from Fashion Weeks need to be followed.
We all follow trends and try our best to be fashionable. This applies not only to clothes, but also to hairstyles and makeup. However, some of the Fashion Week make-up options seem beautiful, but a little crazy. How to understand which trends can be followed, and which ones are better to forget, our experts told.
“First of all, it is worth remembering that not every catwalk makeup can be considered a trend. In many ways, it is created to emphasize the general atmosphere and idea of the designer’s collection.
Images are often more exaggerated, but they clearly show the main features that can be considered trends – color, shape, texture, ”comments Anna Merkusheva, national makeup artist for MAKE UP FOR EVER in Russia.
You’ve probably noticed that makeup artists on shows most often experiment with eye makeup, and not only with shades of shadows or eyeliners, but also with application techniques. That is why Anna advises avoiding arrows of strange and unusual shapes.
“Not everyone will fit the tightly drawn lower eye contour of the JW Anderson and Ports 1961 runway, the graphic flying arrows like Jill Stuart, or the unusual shape suggested by Rochas. Such makeup can visually change the shape and size of the eyes, an inexperienced girl risks making mistakes, ”says Anna Merkusheva.
“Smeared shadows, splashes of paint, abstractions, monochrome painted faces – this is something that should not be carried over into everyday life, even when gathering for a party. And at the Preen show, the models were the embodiment of “sea sirens”, shining with holographic glitter on the forehead, imitating the shine of fish scales. I doubt that if you come to work with such makeup, your image will be appreciated, ”adds Alexandra Churkina, top makeup artist at Aldo Coppola Vesna.
But at the same time, some, even crazy trends can be adapted to life. “For example, the blue eye shadow strokes at the Marni show can inspire you for a smoky deep blue color, just change the shadow pattern to a more classic one that suits your eye shape,” advises Anna Merkusheva.
“This season, as in previous ones, natural make-up is in trend, emphasizing the fresh and healthy look of the skin. This is also indicated by beauty showcases, on which more and more universal cosmetics appear, suitable for all types of appearance. You can get inspired by makeup by watching the shows of Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Alexander Wang, Chanel, Etro, where natural makeup has become a little brighter due to bronze shades. Bottega Veneta, Cushnie Et Ochs, where natural makeup was complemented with an accent on bright matte lips, ”says top makeup artist Alexandra Churkina.
