Every girl does not see the point in using a makeup base until she finds her own, the very one! It happened to me too: it never occurred to me before that even when you find your perfect foundation or powder, it can still lie unevenly, and we go in search of a new remedy. But the problem is not in the tones, but in the skin, which reacts to the weather, health conditions and many other factors. The base is specially created in order to prepare the skin – to make it velvety and smooth before applying the tone.

Each base is special: one makes the skin radiant, the other mattifies, the third can easily replace the highlighter, and almost each of them can be applied independently.

The first base that I want to talk about for hours is Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer oil-free. This is the first foundation that gave me confidence. The transparent cream glides on easily and instantly mattifies the face without clogging the skin. If you run your hand over your face, it feels like you are touching silk.

Ideal for all skin types, it works well with both foundation and powder. The only thing is that when using a tone, it will need to be applied a little less than usual, since the base does not allow it to be absorbed immediately. I would also like to note that the brand has a whole series of makeup bases (there are more than ten of them!), With different shades and for different skin needs.

I use several bases and alternate them according to the type of makeup I do, but this base will never be abandoned.

The makeup base is completely opposite to the previous one. Clarins Makeup Base creates a radiant complexion. It nourishes and moisturizes the skin of the face. There are three shades of Eclat Minute: 01 rose – for all skin tones, 02 champagne – for light skin prone to redness, and 03 peach – for medium to dark skin. I chose the first shade and tested it in three versions: on my own, under foundation and on foundation. In the first case, we get a beautiful, radiant tone, which visually creates an absolutely healthy and rested image; in the second case, the foundation lies very smoothly and beautifully on the base, without hiding the radiance and creating a thin film that helps to preserve the makeup ideally all day long.

The third option (attention, this is not in the instructions) is a personal invention. The luminous base is applied to the foundation, like a highlighter, on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and on the chin. So, the base Eclat Minute replaces the highlighter. Of course, it is for the third use case that you do not need to buy it, since there are many highlighters that deserve attention, but having a 2 in 1 product is always nice.

Also, the product has an incredibly pleasant floral scent that cheers you up in the morning when creating makeup.

To begin with, I have never used a makeup base. In general, I considered this product a pointless waste of money, since, in my opinion, you can easily do without it. But that was before I got to know the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer and discovered a way to extend the life of my makeup.

I used to think that dripping makeup at the end of the day is, in principle, normal. However, as it turned out, if you apply the base, then the makeup not only does not disappear anywhere, it does not even fade! This is especially true for subtropical, humid climates. And how did I live without this product before? I will definitely take it with me on the trip!

But first things first. When I first met Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer, I was captivated by the product packaging: a simple and laconic design of a glass jar with a dispenser (pump), which allows you to squeeze out exactly as much product as you need at one time, which significantly saves consumption. The texture of the base is quite pleasant, and it should be noted that Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer does not clog pores and is practically not felt on the skin. The face becomes “matte” and the makeup lasts for more than 12 hours. Another plus – it is suitable for any type of skin and has a pleasant, unobtrusive smell.

During testing, I, of course, tried this wonderful product and was pleased with it. I will say more, this tool should be in every girl’s cosmetic bag, especially if you use foundation.

The base color is light yellow, it becomes completely transparent on the face. The consistency is watery, but slightly thicker, denser. The smell is pleasant, reminiscent of the aromas in professional beauty salons.

The foundation on the base lays down smoother due to the fact that the base evens out the skin and makes it matte. It is a fact. I noticed that she did not hide imperfections on her face. Pimples and blackheads are still visible after application. However, the essence of the base is not in hiding the traces of a crime, but in smoothing the skin for a foundation, which will hide all imperfections.

The base does not clog the skin, is easy to apply and does not feel on the face. Most importantly, it prolongs the life of your makeup all day long.

By the way, many people say that this product is not suitable for oily skin. My skin is just oily, and this tool is very suitable for me. There is practically no oily sheen all day long, which cannot be said when you apply a foundation without foundation on your face.

I don’t know anything about makeup bases and have never used them – it seemed that there would be a layer of makeup on my face. Therefore, an experiment from scratch.

So, the texture of the base is gel-like. If your skin is well hydrated and does not tighten after washing, this product alone will be sufficient. But I applied another small layer of moisturizer 20 minutes before makeup.

The base is well distributed over the skin, but uneconomical: due to the texture, apparently, it does not “stretch” over the face, a certain amount is needed to cover the entire face.

I applied my usual foundation on top, and it even seemed to me that it lay on the base unevenly, as if rolling. But! when the makeup was finished, I realized that the skin looks much smoother than usual. And the makeup turned out to be resistant – it lasted all day perfectly.

Pros for me: small package – easily fits into a cosmetic bag, does not take up much space. The declared matte effect gives and honestly holds for several hours.

Of the minuses: the base rolls down when applying the foundation, do not forget to look carefully in the mirror before going outside.
