Maker’s mark – premium bourbon, which has its own history and traditions. The company was founded in 1840 in Kentucky and today is considered the oldest distillery in the city.
The history of bourbon Maker’s Mark
More than 100 years passed before the world learned about the new variety of bourbon. In 1943, Bill Samuel bought the distillery. He worked on the creation of an original bourbon for eight long years. To get an incredible taste and the perfect ratio of grains in it, I baked bread, changing different combinations, and the recipe for the most delicious bread was used to make bourbon.
So in 1958, Maker’s Mark appeared, in the original bottle, the design of which was invented and developed by Bill’s wife.
This bourbon can be recognized by the red wax that runs down the neck of the bottle.
Types and overview of Maker’s Mark flavors
There are only three types of bourbon in the company’s product line. Maker’s Mark cares not about the quantity, but about the quality of the taste of the drink:
Maker’s Mark Bourbon Whisky (45%)
This is the distillery’s very first bourbon. It has a characteristic golden color. On the palate there are oily and slightly honey shades, which make it softer and richer. The aftertaste is dry with hints of oak.
The aroma has notes of exotic fruits and spicy oaky nuances, which speak of the high class of the drink.
This is the only Maker’s Mark bourbon, which is officially presented on the territory of Russia and Ukraine.
Maker’s 46 Bourbon Whiskey (47%)
This bourbon begins to age in charred oak barrels exclusively in winter, then this process is slower. After some time, the drink begins to be tasted every day, when all the aromas come together in perfect balance, the barrels are uncorked and the bourbon is bottled.
Maker’s 46 Bourbon Whiskey has woody notes in the aroma that are complemented by caramel accents.
The taste of bourbon is very deep and rich, it captures soft shades of vanilla and burnt caramel.
Maker’s Mark Cask Strength Bourbon Whisky (55,8%)
This bourbon is the strongest of the Maker’s Mark collection. It has a golden color with a copper overflow. The taste of the drink is rich with rich hints of spices, vanilla and smoky notes. Very soft long aftertaste.
The aroma of bourbon has a pronounced woody aroma with vanilla and smoky undertones.
