Makariy

Makariy is a beer produced by the Lyskovsky brewery founded in the middle of the XNUMXth century. The peculiarity of the enterprise is the use of modern equipment while maintaining classic technologies.

The brewery has its own malt house, artesian water undergoes additional preparation. The technology uses natural hops, dispenses with flavors and preservatives. The fermentation process takes up to 7 days, maturing – up to 50 for different brands of beer. Pasteurization is carried out in a gentle mode with rapid heating to 70ºC and immediate cooling.

Currently, “Makariy” is the most recognizable and popular brand of the Lyskovsky plant, with five varieties. In addition to the flagship brand, the brewery produces a line of live beer, several national and Volga varieties of intoxicating drink.

Historical information

The founding date of the plant in Lyskovo is considered to be 1860, when small handicraft producers united for the industrial production of beer. Five years later, the merchant Ermolaev became the owner of the brewery. In 1882, his heirs expanded production by building the Novo-Lyskovsky plant from stone. The involvement of the German specialist Günther Scheider as the chief brewer and the replacement of equipment significantly improved the quality of beer, which was confirmed by several awards at international and Russian exhibitions.

After the introduction of Prohibition during the First World War, the brewery fell into decay, and since 1917 it stopped production. Only five years later, work was resumed and continued until the start of World War II. During the period of post-war restoration, the enterprise was modernized for the production of Moskovsky, Rizhsky, Zhigulevsky beer. In the 90s of the last century, a water treatment section, a laboratory were created at the plant, and a boiler house was reconstructed. In 1998, the Makariy brand was born, which became the flagship brand of the company.

As a result of a large-scale modernization, which began in 2010, new workshops appeared at the plant with modern lager tanks, equipment for the fermentation shop and the brewhouse. The company operates filling lines for glass, PET bottles and kegs of German manufacturers Kronos and KHS, Austrian company A. Gruber.
