Magvit B6 – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Magvit B6 is used in the prevention of complications related to magnesium and / or vitamin deficiency. B6, incl. in the states of chronic physical and mental fatigue, nervous hyperactivity, in stressful situations, sleep disorders, depression, in muscle pain, prevention of atherosclerosis and heart attacks. As a supplement to the identified deficiencies of magnesium and / or vitamin. B6 in the body. The drug is in the form of gastro-resistant tablets and is dispensed without a prescription.

Magvit B6 – indications and dosage

Magvit B6 is recommended:

  1. in nervous hyperactivity,
  2. in stressful situations,
  3. in the prevention of complications related to deficiency of magnesium and / or vitamin. B6, incl. in the states of chronic physical and mental fatigue,
  4. in sleep disorders and depression,
  5. in muscle pain,
  6. preventively atherosclerosis and heart attacks,
  7. as an auxiliary in the treatment of hypomagnesaemia caused by heavy smoking or alcohol consumption, long-term use of oral contraceptives, certain diuretics or laxatives, and osmotic diuresis,
  8. in patients with diabetes in the course of chronic hyperglycaemia,
  9. as a supplement to the treatment of heart and circulatory system diseases (including arterial hypertension, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias),
  10. in the case of atonic muscle spasms and numbness of the limbs,
  11. convalescence after bone fractures,
  12. in osteoporosis.

Dosage of the preparation

Magvit B6 is in the form of gastro-resistant tablets. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the preparation. In younger children, the dosage is selected individually.

  1. Prophylactically: adults and children from 12 years of age. (adolescents): 1 time a day 2 tablets or 1 to 2 tablets 2 times a day

Magvit B6 and contraindications

Contraindications to taking Magvit B6 are:

  1. B6 hypervitaminosis,
  2. allergy to any ingredient of the preparation,
  3. severe kidney failure,
  4. atrioventricular block,
  5. hypermagnesemia,
  6. parkinsonism treated with levodopa without the use of a peripheral levodopa decarboxylase inhibitor,
  7. severe arterial hypotension,
  8. gastrointestinal absorption disorders,
  9. myasthenia gravis,
  10. diarrhea.

Magvit B6 – warnings

  1. Particular caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal and / or heart failure. In this case, consult your doctor before starting treatment with the preparation.
  2. Magvit B6 contains sucrose, therefore patients with hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take it.
  3. Do not use on an empty stomach.
  4. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the drug.

Magvit B6 and other substances

  1. The reduction of magnesium absorption is caused by phosphates, calcium compounds, excess lipids and phytates.
  2. Magnesium excretion in urine is increased due to diuretics, cisplatin, cycloserine, and mineralocorticosteroids.
  3. Aminoglycosides, muscle relaxants and colistin used simultaneously with magnesium preparations may cause muscle paralysis.
  4. Magnesium reduces the absorption of theophylline, iron compounds, fluoride, oral anticoagulants from the warfarin group, tetracyclines. There should be an interval of at least 3 hours between taking oral tetracycline and magnesium.
  5. The magnesium contained in the drug reduces the excretion of quinidine, which may lead to the risk of overdose.
  6. The concentration of phenytoin in the blood can be caused by vitamin B6.
  7. Cycloserine, hydralazine, isoniazid, penicillamine and oral contraceptives may lead to an increased need for vitamin B6
  8. Do not use the drug at the same time with sink, because pyridoxine (vitamin B6) contained in the preparation reduces its effectiveness in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

Magvit B6 – side effects

While taking Magvit B6, the following may occur:

  1. diarrhea,
  2. stomach pain,
  3. reddening of the skin,
  4. Long-term use of pyridoxine (vitamin B6) in a dose of 50 mg / day may cause peripheral sensory neuropathy, while doses above 200 mg / day may lead to folic acid deficiency, respiratory disorders and various types of dermatoses.
