Magsolvit B6 – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Magsolvit B6 is used in the prevention of complications related to the deficiency of magnesium and vitamin. B6 in case of insufficient supply of magnesium and vitamin. B6 in the diet and in a long-term diet rich in saturated fatty acids, in acute or chronic pancreatitis or hepatitis, during the use of diuretics (e.g. furosemide, thiazide diuretics), in prolonged and persistent diarrhea. The drug is in the form of a syrup and is available without a prescription.

Magsolvit B6 is a drug recommended:

  1. in the prevention of complications related to the deficiency of magnesium and vitamin. B6 in case of insufficient supply of magnesium and vitamin. B6 in the diet and a long-term diet rich in saturated fatty acids,
  2. in acute or chronic pancreatitis or hepatitis,
  3. during the use of diuretics (e.g. furosemide, thiazide diuretics),
  4. during long-term and persistent diarrhea,
  5. in the case of overuse of laxatives,
  6. in conditions accompanied by increased muscle excitability and a tendency to tetany attacks,
  7. in conditions of long-term immobilization and in convalescence after bone fractures,
  8. in people with impaired reabsorption of magnesium from the renal tubules,
  9. in the prevention of certain heart diseases (especially coronary artery, arrhythmias and heart attacks).

Use of the drug

Magsolvit B6 is a preparation in the form of a syrup for oral administration.

  1. In the prevention of deficiency 5-10 ml / d, in other indications individual dosage.

Magsolvit B6 and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Magsolvit B6 are:

  1. allergy to any ingredient of the preparation,
  2. hypermagnesaemia of various etiologies,
  3. severe kidney failure,
  4. atrioventricular block,
  5. severe arterial hypotension,
  6. myasthenia gravis,
  7. use of levodopa without a peripheral L-DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor,
  8. diarrhea.

Magsolvit B6 – warnings

  1. In patients with impaired renal function, the need to reduce doses (depending on the concentration of magnesium ion in the blood serum) should be taken into account.
  2. A contraindication to the use of Magsolvit B6 is acute renal failure.
  3. In people with impaired intestinal absorption, there may be a complete lack or a significant reduction in the effect of the preparation.
  4. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. There is no information on the safety of taking this medicine during this period.

Magsolvit B6 and other substances

  1. Aminoglycosides, muscle relaxants and colistin used with magnesium ions can cause muscle paralysis.
  2. Do not use Magsolvit B6 with tetracyclines, calcium compounds, fluoride, phosphates and oral anticoagulants.
  3. Alcohol and tobacco reduce the absorption of magnesium from the gastrointestinal tract.
  4. Hydralazine, isoniazid, cycloserine and penicillin form inactive compounds with vitamin B6, reducing its concentration in the body.
  5. Oral contraceptives increase the need for vitamin B6.
  6. Vitamin B6 may reduce serum levels of phenytoin and may reduce the effectiveness of levodopa in the treatment of parkinsonism (when levodopa is used without a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor).

Magsolvit B6 – side effects

While taking Magsolvit B6, the following may appear:

  1. diarrhea
  2. nausea,
  3. Long-term intake of pyridoxine (vitamin B6) in a dose of 50 mg / day may cause peripheral sensory neuropathy, while doses above 200 mg / day may lead to folic acid deficiency, respiratory disorders and various types of dermatoses.
