Mackerel: how to fry deliciously? Video
Mackerel is one of the most delicious marine fish due to the delicate taste of meat, its high fat content and minimal amount of bones. Fried mackerel is especially good, which can be cooked in various ways.
To cook mackerel according to this recipe, you will need: – 2 carcasses of mackerel; – 50 g bread crumbs; – vegetable oil for frying; – salt, black pepper.
Defrost the fish, if it was purchased not chilled, gut, remove the head and fins from the carcass, rinse thoroughly inside and out. Cut the mackerel into pieces no more than two centimeters thick, thicker ones will not cook well, losing their crisp. Season each piece with salt, pepper and roll in breadcrumbs on all sides.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, pouring in such an amount that the fish is immersed in fat at least half its thickness. Gently place the fish in hot oil, fry over medium heat for a few minutes, then turn over to the other side. The entire cooking process will take about 5-7 minutes.
To prepare fish according to this recipe, take: – 3 carcasses of mackerel; – 1 egg; – 2-3 tbsp. flour; – 1 tbsp. beer; – salt, pepper to taste; – vegetable oil.
Prepare the fish by defrosting and brushing. If the fish is chilled, cut it straight away, cutting it into portions 1,5–2 cm thick. Beat the egg, beer and flour batter, not forgetting to salt and pepper it. The thickness of the batter should resemble not too fatty sour cream. Dip each piece in batter and place in a frying pan with hot oil. After crusting on one side, turn the fish over and fry until tender. Do not cover the pan with a lid, otherwise the batter will get wet and not crispy.
If the fish, after defrosting during cutting, falls apart and does not hold its shape, then the conditions for its storage and transportation have been violated. It is better to fry such pieces in batter.
If you want to try the most dietary way to cook mackerel, use the grill. For this dish, take: – 2 mackerel carcasses; – 1 tbsp. a spoonful of soy sauce; – black pepper, marjoram; – 1 tsp vegetable oil.
Use butter, soy sauce, and spices to make a marinade by combining them together. Spread it evenly over slices of pre-cut fish. The most optimal thickness of pieces for grilling is from 1 to 1,5 cm.
Preheat the grill without greasing the surface with additional oil, fry each piece of mackerel on both sides until tender. The advantage of this recipe is not only in its dietetic nature, but also in the fact that the mackerel itself, when frying, acquires beautiful stripes on the meat.
