Lunges with weights — technique exercises:

  1. For security purposes, perform this exercise in a frame for squats. To start, adjust the stand so that the neck is at or slightly below your shoulders. Load the rod the necessary weight. Become under the neck and place it on back of shoulders (slightly below the neck).
  2. Grab the neck with both hands and remove it from the stands, straining his legs and torso.
  3. Step away from the rack. Right foot take a step forward and squat down, bending your left leg, keeping the torso straight and your head raised. During this movement follow the breath. Hint: don’t let the knee of the leg which is to come, to go forward. It must remain on the same parallel with your feet.
  4. Push off with feet from the floor, and exhale return to starting position.
  5. Complete the required number of repetitions and do the exercise with the other leg.

Note: this exercise requires good balance. If you perform this exercise for the first time or has problems with balance, try the exercise without weights, using as weights only its own weight.

Variations: there are several variations of this exercise.

  1. You can do lunges alternating right and left foot.
  2. The starting position may be such in which one leg is already ahead. In this case, you only need to perform the movement up and down, sinking and rising with weight.
  3. Complicated option exercises are steps lunge. Instead after a lunge you take a step back and return to its original position, you again make a step forward, alternating thus legs.
