Lubexyl – indications, contraindications, side effects

Lubexyl is an anti-acne preparation for topical application to the skin. The active substance of the drug is benzoyl peroxide. It is an oxidizing compound that easily penetrates into the stratum corneum. The drug is a suspension and is intended for topical application to the skin. The preparation is available in pharmacies without a prescription.

Lubexyl indications for use

The preparation is indicated in the local treatment of acne vulgaris.

Lubexyl and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Lubexyl are;

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. do not use on damaged skin or very sensitive skin,
  3. do not use in case of skin inflammation,
  4. the preparation should not be applied to the mucous membranes, eyes or around the eyes, mouth or nose,
  5. do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Lubexyl dosing

The bottle should be shaken before use. Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

  1. Adults and children over 12 years of age: apply a few drops of the suspension to washed and moistened skin and spread on the affected area; use twice a day. After 2-1 minutes, rinse the suspension thoroughly with water. The treatment period is usually 2-2 weeks. Each time after using the preparation, wash your hands.

Lubexyl – warnings

  1. Lubexyl is intended for external, topical use only.
  2. Protect your mouth, eyes and mucous membranes from contact with the drug.
  3. He recommends avoiding UV radiation (including quartz lamps, solariums, sun rays).
  4. Avoid using the drug around the eyebrows, beard and hair due to the bleaching effect of benzoyl peroxide.
  5. There is no information on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive and use machines.
  6. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may use Lubexyl only after consulting a doctor and when absolutely necessary.

Lubexyl and other substances

Lubexyl should not be used simultaneously with skin irritating, drying or exfoliating preparations.

Lubexyl – side effects

During the use of Lubexyl, the following may appear:

  1. feeling of skin tightness,
  2. slight redness,
  3. baking,
  4. worsening of dry skin and moderate peeling of the epidermis,
  5. rarely contact allergic dermatitis.
