Lowland grape: grape variety
The Nizina grape is a common hybrid variety widely used in horticulture. The variety wins over summer residents and breeders with a stable yield and a large number of berries.
Description of grapes “Lowland”
Lowland belongs to mid-ripening, stable varieties, attracting a high percentage of seedlings rooting. The period of flowering and the formation of fruit ovaries is from the first month of summer. Ripens from mid-August to the second half of September. The bushes are massive, develop rapidly, and begin to bear fruit about a year after planting.
The fruits are formed on large clusters, the weight of which ranges from 600 to 2000 grams. The brush is strewn with berries loosely, the shape resembles a cylinder. The grape variety “Nizina” is distinguished by an intense color of the harvest, the color can vary from red and purple to dark blue. Juicy, sweet pulp is hidden under the bright, thin skin. It has a good presentation and can be stored for a long time.
Advantages of the variety: high transportability of ripe berries and resistance to low temperatures, which does not prevent harvesting in almost any region of the country.
Breeding a variety does not require special skills and energy consumption. It is enough to listen to the recommendations of experienced breeders:
- Pay special attention to the grape planting site – it should be well lit and hidden from drafts and strong gusts of wind.
- Take care of the fertility of the soil, if necessary, enrich the land with mineral and organic fertilizers.
- When preparing the planting holes, be sure to organize good drainage – the root system should not be constantly in the water. Try to avoid areas where groundwater is close to the surface.
- Consider the minimum distance between plants – 3 meters.
- Immediately before placing the plants in the ground, it is necessary to sprinkle the bottom of the pit with fertile soil, and spray the roots of the seedlings with drugs that stimulate growth.
- The planted plants require abundant watering, mulching and additional support in the form of a garter.
Crop care consists in abundant watering (at least 2 times a week), loosening and clearing the land of weeds, fertilizing with fertilizers during the formation of ovaries. Also, gardeners recommend tracking and controlling the number of shoots on each bush – their optimal number should not exceed 25 shoots. You should also thin out the bunches during the ripening period.
If you follow all of the above tips for multiplying the culture, you will get healthy, massive bushes of grapes from which a rich harvest will be harvested.
