Lost voice: how to treat? Video
Speaking professions know how important it is to monitor their voice and maintain a healthy throat, an organ that needs constant protection from environmental factors. What to do if the signs of the disease are already manifesting themselves?
A rare cold does without sore throat and, as a result, without a change in voice. An organism that has been attacked by viruses or just a cold harsh wind begins to malfunction, and even if the general state of health remains normal, the voice may disappear.
Less common, but serious reasons for loss of voice are overexertion, as well as the presence in a room with too dry or polluted air. If you do not “wet your throat” in time in such conditions, the ligaments can become seriously inflamed and every word will be given to you with great difficulty.
If you feel that during a conversation with the usual timbre of your voice you have a sore throat, dryness or any unpleasant sensations, this is the first signal that you have strained your throat and you should relax. Remain as silent as possible. Drink warm tea and refrain from smoking. In a few hours, the voice will return to normal.
If your throat really hurts, stop all conversation if possible. Remember that whispering requires more effort from the vocal cords than the usual sound of the voice, so quiet conversations will only contribute to the development of the disease. Cover your throat with a scarf and turn on a humidifier, so it will be easier for you to breathe and your throat will begin to calm down.
If voice problems are not uncommon for you, protect your throat with scarves or lightweight neckerchiefs, even in summer. You can always choose an accessory that matches your suit
You can quickly return a pleasant sound to a hoarse voice at home using heat and natural remedies. Returning home with a sore throat, take a warm shower for your hands, directing a stream of hot water for 10-15 minutes to the inner side of the forearms from the elbow to the hand. When sweat begins to sweat on your forehead, dry your hands and dress in warm pajamas. Of course, the feet and neck should also be insulated. Sip hot tea with honey or raspberry jam under the covers. The voice should return in the morning. Another drink pleasant to the throat is an infusion of pharmaceutical herbs: chamomile tea is well suited; a mixture of yarrow and calendula. It is recommended to drink herbs, since gargling requires serious exertion.
Inhalation is good for treating a sore throat and a runny nose. Their general principle is to breathe in hot, healing steam, bending over the pan and covering yourself with a towel. And choose the aroma at your discretion. This can be the brewed medicinal herbs described above, or steam from freshly boiled jacket potatoes. You can indulge yourself in the enchanting aromas of essential oils: lavender, cedar, basil and eucalyptus are good ones. In addition to the therapeutic effect, such inhalations have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin.
If within five days of self-treatment your voice has not returned to you, be sure to seek help from a doctor.
