Losing weight is easy when you’re breastfeeding!

Many women complain about excess weight after pregnancy. However, they are not sure whether they should lose weight while breastfeeding. The baby then needs all the nutrients and the success of delivery depends on their presence, so any deficiencies can end tragically. In addition, in the eighth or ninth month of pregnancy, violent physical activity is not recommended, and even climbing stairs or walking is difficult, so losing weight is out of the question. Many women notice that they lose weight on their own during breastfeeding. Why is this happening?

Losing calories

Breastfeeding is, contrary to appearances, a lot of effort for the whole body. We pass on the nutrients and fats from our food through our milk. And while every mother knows that during pregnancy you should take special care of your diet, many women eat less during breastfeeding. Meanwhile, also during the feeding period, the need for calories is several hundred more than usual. Along with feeding, we lose large amounts of energy every day, which is why many women begin to lose weight rapidly during this period.

Good time to diet

However, what to do if the kilograms are too much or they do not want to disappear even though we breastfeed the baby? Many women are afraid that they should not lose weight at this time, because they can harm their baby in this way. After all, what the mother eats goes to the baby’s body! Yes, at this time you should not reach for slimming teas, coffee or go on a hunger strike, because it could seriously harm the baby. However, nothing stands in the way of introducing healthy dishes to your daily menu and starting to move. On the contrary – the better the mother eats, the better for the baby. That’s why it’s a great time to start taking care of your diet carefully after pregnancy. It should contain a lot of vegetables and fruits, groats and whole grains. Plus dairy and some lean meat. It is important that the weight loss diet does not run out of fat. Good fats are those containing vitamin D and Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, which help you burn pounds. We can find them in nuts, olive oil or fatty sea fish. Let’s beware of processed and animal fats, i.e. lard, red meat and ready-made powdered meals. What about traffic at this particular time? Many mums discover that just taking care of the house and child is enough for them to exercise and also thanks to this they start to lose weight quickly. If it’s not enough for us, we can go for aerobics with a child, aqua aerobics, walks or other outdoor activities.
