In our time of chronic lack of sleep and constant stress, not everyone manages to look rested even after a weekend spent outside the city or a trip to the sea. Our experts suggest some easy ways to freshen up.
1.Give up your phone and tablet after dark
“We underestimate the impact of gadgets on our well-being and appearance,” says sports physician Francois Duforez, founder of the European Sleep Center, a biorhythm research center. “It’s still hard for us to truly appreciate how much phones, tablets and computers drain our energy. In front of their glowing screens that block the production of melatonin, our brain is simply not able to relax.” Frequent use of gadgets in the dark leads to the fact that natural biorhythms get lost.
2. Use night masks
The night mask, or sleeping pack, is a specific skin care product from Asia, which has already been adopted by many European cosmetic brands. This mask should be applied before going to bed and washed off in the morning. The light gel texture of the product is quickly absorbed without leaving a hint of stickiness on the skin. When you wake up, you look refreshed, even if you slept less than eight hours. “The secret of these products is that they act on several levels at once: moisturize on the surface, accelerate cellular renewal and reduce inflammation inside the skin,” explains dermatologist David Colbert. “The combination of moisturizing, soothing and exfoliating effects and provides a fresh look in the morning.”

3.Show your tongue
Carefully stretch your tongue forward and down as far as possible. This stimulates the elimination of toxins and reduces signs of fatigue. “There are other simple facial exercises that anyone can do at home,” adds beautician Annie Pigbo (Annie Puigbo). – For example, the pronunciation of the sounds “o” and “ks”. Do this exaggeratedly clearly at least five times.”
4. Sing
Chanting is just as beneficial as deep breathing, outdoor sports, and the yogic mantra Om. “All these actions calm the mind and at the same time create beneficial vibrations in the body that promote intercellular communication,” says beautician Gerard Redziniak. “Due to this, inflammatory processes in the skin are reduced, it recovers faster and better.” Perform one of the suggested actions twice a day – in the morning and in the evening – and you will feel fresher before your eyes!

5. Do eye exercises
It relieves stress and restores radiance to the look. Close your eyes, put your index, middle and ring fingers on your eyelids. Make several circular movements, first clockwise, then counterclockwise. This stimulates blood circulation in the skin around the eyes. Put your palms on your eyes and again make several circular movements with them, first in one direction, then in the other direction. Place the pads of three fingers on your temples and make a few circular motions. This will reduce stress.
6. Practice Relaxing Breathing
Sit comfortably and focus on your breathing. Breathe through your nose, following your rhythm, and gradually lengthen the exhalation. Then inhale again at your natural rhythm. This gradual lengthening of exhalation activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest and recovery of the body, and reduces stress levels. Muscles relax, more oxygen enters them, blood circulation normalizes. Do this exercise for 3 minutes every time you find yourself tense.
7. Do a refreshing make-up
The more natural the make-up, the fresher and younger the face looks. To “reveal” a tired look, Bobbi Brown makeup artist Eduardo Ferreira recommends using beige shadows (matte or with a slight mother of pearl), brown eyeliner and mascara, which should be applied only to the upper lashes. Hide redness and blueness under the eyes with a reflective concealer and apply pink blush (cream only, not powder) to the apples of your cheeks, the place that stands out the most when you smile.
