Eyelash care is not part of the daily routine of most women, which is a big mistake. Even the most expensive mascara will not conjure up the desired effect if the tufts are short and thinned. We usually make mistakes during the morning and evening toilet that make the eyelashes look bad. Long and beautiful eyelashes illuminate the eye, so it’s worth taking care of them!
Often focusing on eyebrow care, we do not pay much attention to eyelashes. It has been calculated that on average 150 to 200 eyelashes grow on the upper eyelid, and from 50 to 150 on the lower eyelid. It is normal for only one or two eyelashes to fall out per day. If they fall out in clumps, see a dermatologist.
The eyelashes are similar to the hair on the head. With age, their tendency to grow decreases, they also often become brittle and brittle. Factors that significantly weaken them include:
- Daily use of ink,
- Frequent use of the eyelash curler,
- Lengthening and thickening treatments,
- Inaccurate make-up removal.
The phase of intensive eyelash growth lasts only 2-3 weeks. Later, the hair follicles shrink and begin to fall out over time. After falling out, the intensive growth phase returns again and the cycle repeats, lasting 3-4 months. Therefore, eyelashes will be the longest and thickest if we manage to extend this phase. For this to happen, it is worth using appropriate care methods and implementing the following tricks:
- Comb your lashes. Just like hair, they need gentle detangling. Use a special eyelash brush or an old, clean mascara. Parting your hair will make it look thicker.
- Do not forget about thorough makeup removal. This is actually the most important rule that will allow you to enjoy long eyelashes. Many women forget to remove makeup or do it inaccurately, so if you care about a unique look, always clean your face thoroughly. Poorly washed mascara causes the hair follicles to become clogged and the skin of the eyelids to become irritated. As a result, we have falling out and damaged eyelashes.
- Care castor oil or conditioner. Castor oil has been used for the care of eyelashes and eyebrows by our grandmothers, but its consistency makes it flow quite easily and can irritate the conjunctiva. A safer and slightly more pleasant form of eye care is the use of special eyelash conditioners. Today, many cosmetic companies offer care, rebuilding and stimulating hair growth preparations. The most valuable substances that you will find in a good conditioner are: biotin and vitamin B12 (prevent hair loss), plant extracts (moisturize and regenerate), panthenol (increases elasticity, renews eyelash structure), hyaluronic acid (ensures proper hydration of the eyelashes).
- Treat them gently. So avoid rubbing your eyes at all costs, also during makeup removal. This fairly obvious tip is often ignored in everyday life, but friction contributes to the weakening and “wiping” of eyelashes.
- Give up artificial methods. Unfortunately, although the use of artificial tufts is certainly effective, disposable extensions greatly weaken natural hair. Glue does them a lot of damage. It’s different when it comes to eyelashes that last for a month – they are attached to your natural hairs, so they fall out together with them.
