Lokomotiv is a popular dietary supplement used to relieve the symptoms of motion sickness. It is most often used in the form of lozenges while driving.

Lokomotiv – composition and action

Lokomotiv contains ginger rhizome extract. Powdered ginger has antiemetic properties, which makes it more comfortable to travel by car, train, plane or ship. Lokomotiv relieves symptoms of motion sickness such as malaise and nausea, so it will be useful prophylactically when we go on a trip. It does not cause side effects and is a 100% natural product (it contains only powdered ginger rhizome and auxiliary substances).

Lokomotiv – dosage

Lokomotiv comes in the form of dragees, lozenges or syrup.

The syrup is intended mainly for children (after 3 years of age). It is administered in a dose of 1-2 teaspoons before or during the trip. The dose of 8 teaspoons a day (4 doses) should not be exceeded. Lokomotiv syrup should be shaken before use as it contains plant extracts which tend to settle to the bottom. The turbidity of the syrup is natural and is not a product defect. The syrup can be washed down with a little water if necessary.

In the case of lozenges and lozenges, they are used in a dose of 2 lozenges / lozenges before the trip and another 2 during the trip. Lozenges should be sucked slowly while traveling.

Lokomotiv can also be in the form of lollipops (for adults and children over 3 years of age). They are given at a dose of 2 lollipops a day for children, 3 lollipops for adults, one before the trip and the rest during the trip. People who do not tolerate traveling by car or other means of transport may take a double dose of Lokomotiv supplement (in case of using syrup or dragées / lozenges).

There is no information on overdose with lokomotiv.

Lokomotiv – precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking lokomotiv. As with all medications and dietary supplements, the use of Lokomotiv requires compliance with certain rules. The preparation should not be used by people who are allergic to the active substance contained in it (ginger) or any other ingredient (excipients).

It is also not recommended to take the drug lokomotiv by people with gallstone disease, because the drug has a choleretic effect. If the symptoms worsen while taking the drug, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Lokomotiv is basically intended for adults and children over 6 years of age, but it can also be used for younger children, as long as it does not cause them discomfort (the ginger contained in the preparation has a sharp taste).

The use of Lokomotiv simultaneously with alcoholic beverages or preparations containing alcohol may increase intestinal peristalsis and cause stomach problems. However, Lokomotiv has no effect on driving – it does not cause drowsiness.
