To win the love and surprise their consumers, some alcohol producers are taking drastic measures. Perhaps this is what marketers, designers of the Lokita brand (Lokita) were guided by when they created the label for their drinks.
The image of Katrina, the main symbol of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, was taken as a basis, which is a skull in a beautiful hat made of fresh flowers. For the first time this image was invented and embodied in a zinc engraving by the Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posada in 1913.
Important about Lokita drinks
You are 100% sure that this brand is a Mexican heritage. But it is not so. Lokita tequila is produced exclusively in Mexico, while Lokita dessert liqueur, which we will talk about in this article, is produced in Belgium. These two drinks are united by a recognizable symbol on the label, tequila and the French company BBC Wines & Spirits.
Certainly! You are surprised and do not understand how the French got here. And to understand this, let’s make a brief digression into history.
Company History
BBC Wines & Spirits is quite young by the standards of alcohol history. It was created in 1946 and, as we have already understood, it happened in France, and to be even more precise, in the province of Bordeaux.
Until the XNUMXth century, it dealt exclusively with wines and managed to become one of the largest French exporters of alcohol.
But when the fashion for tequila came to Europe at the beginning of the XNUMXst century, the company’s management decided to expand its line.
That’s right, in 2010, BBC Wines & Spirit began to produce tequila, and then a dessert liqueur based on Lokita tequila.
Composition and features of Lokita liqueur
You probably think that we will now sing odes to this unusual liquor, but no. In addition to a spectacular label, there is nothing special about it. Is that a bunch of flavors and, apparently, not entirely natural.
Although in the composition you can still find several natural ingredients: water, ethyl alcohol, sugar syrup, tequila, lime flavor, natural red pepper flavor, agave flavor.
According to the manufacturer, the strength of the drink is 33% and at the first tasting we will be hit by a real explosion of flavors, in which there are pronounced notes of lime and hot pepper.
But those who are “lucky enough” to try the Belgian liqueur describe its taste as follows: “A sugary-sweet drink with a pronounced taste of alcohol of dubious quality, which is diluted with piece additives of lime and hot pepper.”
How to drink Lokita liqueur
The manufacturer took care of his consumer. And right on the back of the label he placed a reminder on how to drink his “magnificent” liquor: “It is best to use it neat with ice. It will be indispensable as a digestif. Can be used to make cocktails.
In conclusion, I would like to say that in this case, the filling did not justify the spectacular appearance of the bottle.
Of course, for the sake of variety, you can try Lokita liqueur, but it is better to take a closer look at the tequila of this brand, there are more pleasant and promising opinions about it.
