Turkey is a secular country, it is a center not only for patients from eastern countries, but also for the former CIS countries: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan. Now this country is in the focus of the Russians as well. We asked Elena Ryabusheva, director of OOO Stupeni, which specializes in treatment abroad, to share her impressions. Elena recently returned from a trip to the largest clinics in Turkey.
Turkey has the world’s best clinics
The crisis affected the ability to pay of our patients. The services of some European clinics with the change in the euro rate have become expensive for them, and Turkish clinics are an excellent alternative.
Perhaps, before I personally got acquainted with the Turkish health care system, I also had such thoughts. But the more I get to know, the more I am convinced that the medical centers of this, at first glance, only a tourist country, provide world-class services. The fact is that the Turkish healthcare system has received a powerful impetus over these 20 years in the form of government support and private business investment. And now it brings together world-class physicians in all areas of health care and advanced technology plus an ultra-modern medical base in order to offer each patient the optimal and individual treatment of his disease. Most of the Turkish doctors have received excellent education and solid practice in the best American and European medical universities and hospitals.
But these are just words, and there are also facts and figures. Here are just a few: in Turkey there is a large number of clinics that have received American accreditation – 43. For comparison, there are only 5 such clinics in Germany, and 3 in Israel, and there are no such clinics in Russia at all. Turkey has opened one of five laboratories in Europe analyzing the human genetic code; these studies are indispensable in dietetics.

1. Uniform standards of medicine. The American standards used in Turkish medical practice are among the highest in the world. They allow the patient who has received treatment in Turkey, if necessary, continue treatment anywhere in the world without any additional confirmation. The standards are understood here unambiguously: the patient in all medical institutions, while doing a series of examinations, interpret them on the same scale. Nobody will tell you: “You should have been tested in our hospital, on our ultrasound machine, we do not trust those.”
2. It follows from the first point: here a diagnosis is made as soon as possible, because everyone is acting according to standards. A quick diagnosis + effective treatment = a speedy recovery. I would also characterize Turkish medicine this way. Plus, all the rooms are very comfortable, with a positive and stylish interior.
3. Another weighty argument in favor of treatment in Turkey: upon request, you can get your hands on not only the opinion of highly qualified Turkish specialists, but also the recommendations of the professors of the Harvard Medical School, who are a partner base of the leading clinics in Turkey. And you will have not one conclusion, but two. Second opinion in difficult cases is very important.
4. Ultra-modern equipment in all medical centers in Turkey, which allows you to accurately diagnose in a short time. There are devices of the latest generation, which are in service in the best medical centers in Europe and America. But the policy of the state allows keeping the level of prices for examination 1,5-2 times lower than in Europe. You get the best for less money.
