Living room design: 3 projects with photos
Creating an original living room, and moreover, according to your individual taste and color – this is a worthy task when changing furnishings or arranging a new home. Keep in mind that the territory of taste – the dining room – can be part of the living room and even set the tone in it. It is most convenient to zone the space with the help of symbolic partitions and correctly placed furniture. So, realize your preferences using the color scheme, as well as the traditional or peculiar design style of the interior.
Photo living room design
Modern stylistics, in everyday life called modern, requires an ingenious spatial solution, which would bring originality to the atmosphere, but would not be conspicuous. In our case, the upholstered furniture and the dining group were placed in autonomous zones, opposite each other. And the whole room was visually divided across with the help of a low partition and a curbstone with a length of 240 cm. Thus, a living room with a dining room was obtained. As for the seating area, you can sit down with food at any time, if you decide to arrange a holiday with a buffet, or just watch TV with your family. It is better to put a small coffee table next to the armchairs and the sofa, which will make the atmosphere even more comfortable. A light yellow accent is suitable for discreet modern furniture.
German country style
- Photo 1. Place decorative bundles of brushwood on the sideboard, they can become lamps. A modern chandelier with halogen bulbs will create a relaxed mood in the living area.
- Photo 2. Dishes and napkins must be matched to tone, this is an indispensable requirement of strict German country. The low sideboard painted in white with carved elements harmonizes with the mirror hanging above it (140 × 76 × 4,5 cm). Fancy lamps in the form of bundles of brushwood are reflected in the mirror and remind of walks in the fabulous Black Forest.
- Photo 3. The wardrobe with traditional-looking doors inside is decorated in the most modern way. The upper section is divided into two parts. You can put books on the shelf, and place a TV under them – both a flat screen and a monitor with a depth of 65 cm will fit here. The lower part of the cabinet is designed for discs, DVD-players, magazines.
- Photo 4. A white dining table and unpainted wooden chairs were chosen for the dining area. Moreover, the setting allows you to rotate the dining group 90 °. The windows are hung with light beige curtains and pistachio fabric blinds. A modern metal chandelier with curved elements – an interesting contrasting solution in a traditional interior.
The style of German country is almost unknown in our country, but it has undoubted advantages. First of all, you need furniture made of solid wood in natural shades or painted white. Forms are the simplest and most uncomplicated. The furnishings look a little old-fashioned and give the interior a retro feel, while still creating a sense of coziness and reliability. So, put tall wooden chairs in the dining area and rattan sofas in the living room. And be sure to use color accents. A light pistachio carpet, furniture upholstery in a cage and stripes, as well as blinds, napkins, and dishes of the same greenish shade are especially suitable for white.
Orange color design
- Photo 1. The sofa is spacious enough to stretch out with pleasure. The window niche with radiators is covered with decorative screens. They are made of perforated sheet metal that does not interfere with free air circulation. It is convenient to arrange the necessary things on a wide windowsill – vases, books, etc.
- Photo 2, 3. Orange cushions are attached to the cushions. This makes the sofa more comfortable: the pillows do not slip. And the coffee table top has swivel elements. They are convenient not only when working with a laptop, but also during rest: they allow you to bring closer, and when necessary – to move away a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
- Photo 4. Color accents are present, as you can see, in the decoration of the table: cloth and paper napkins are matched to the design of the entire room, in orange tones.
A stylish living room can be not only comfortable, but also bright. For example, in this interior, all the furniture is carefully grouped and, in addition, combined with a color scheme. A sofa, wicker armchairs, a coffee table, a display cabinet, shelves for books, small items and appliances, as well as a drawer that covers the battery are located around the striped yellow-orange carpet and form the living area. Televisions are now so compact that a shelf with a depth of only 25 cm is suitable for them. A large dining table with chairs epitomizes the dining room. The color scheme of the furniture varies in shades. Bright and warm orange was chosen as the dominant one. Walls, curtains, blinds, sofa cushions, vases, chair covers – all this is sustained in the shade of ripe orange. It visually expands the room and at the same time makes it joyful and comfortable. Chairs can be made of plastic, and removable covers will make them more attractive and comfortable. To prevent an overabundance of color, two neutral white lamps were hung over the table.
