Little Elizabeth had no insulin for six days. The “saints” prayed for her as she died

8-year-old Elizabeth died due to a lack of insulin. Twelve members of the sect will be responsible for her death – although the girl suffered from type 1 diabetes, she did not receive the hormone for six days. Earlier her parents had been arrested. The Guardian writes about the case.

Police in Queensland, Australia, detained twelve people from the religious group The Saints. It has to do with the death of 8-year-old Elizabeth Rose Struhs.

The child had diabetes but was not getting insulin

The police suspect that Elizabeth was not given life-saving drugs because the “Saints” believed that she would be healed by God. Elizabeth Rose Struhs had type 1 diabetes. In this disease, insulin is required.

The girl died at home in Rangeville on January 7. Her parents were due to stop giving her insulin six days early.

According to media reports, paramedics were not called until the day after the child’s death, because members of the sect believed that they would resurrect Elizabeth. The information gathered shows that they were present with the girl when she was dying, but instead of helping her, they sang and prayed to God that he would heal her.

Parents “rejected medicine”

The girl’s parents Kerrie Elizabeth Struhs and Jason Richard Struhs were charged with murder, torture and failure earlier this year. They pleaded not guilty and will remain in custody until the next hearing later this month.

The religious group is to consist of three families. Sect representatives cut themselves off from the mainstream church they considered corrupt and became more and more restrictive over the years. They did not celebrate Christmas, rejected medicine, and believed their only purpose was to serve God.
