7. They are like children
Despite the fact that Yorkies are in fairly good health, they require quite a lot of attention, like small children. For example, every day they need to wipe their eyes to avoid conjunctivitis, comb their hair, they also need to regularly brush their teeth from plaque and ears from dust and hair, cut their nails. It is also not recommended to strongly squeeze and toss up the dog, so as not to accidentally dislocate or break its fragile bones.
8. They also have complexes
Cynologists jokingly say that Yorkies suffer from the “little dog” complex: they are stubborn, brave and can serve as excellent guard dogs, attacking even large dogs. There is a known case of how a Yorkshire terrier drove a wild bear out of the house of the mistress! However, they are very playful, loyal and obedient.
9. They are hypoallergenic
Interestingly, Yorkie’s hair looks more like human hair than dog hair, so it doesn’t cause allergies or shedding. That is why Yorkies are suitable even for allergy sufferers. By the way, there are several other dog breeds that can boast of the same quality.
10. They are not color blind
It is known that most dogs are color blind, but this is not the case with cute Yorkies. Yorkshire Terriers are not color blind and see different shades, almost like humans.
11. They are listed in the Book of Records
Yorke entered the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest adult dog in the world. The length of the dog was only 9,5 cm, and the height at the withers was 6,3 cm. This dog could easily fit into a pocket.
