Lithotherapy or the power of stones

Lithotherapy or the power of stones

Lithotherapy is a method of treatment using stones. To wear or place in a room, they would have great virtues.

What is lithotherapy?

Lithotherapy refers to an unconventional medicine that uses stones to heal. The term comes from the Greek lithos, meaning stone, and therapeia, meaning cure.

It is based on the idea that stones and minerals have therapeutic virtues. According to the principle of lithotherapy, they would emit vibrations, they would have a resonance capable of acting on the body to improve the well-being of the person in contact with it, or at least nearby.

Arranged on the body, the stones would allow to regenerate and rebalance the being in its entirety: that is to say as much on the physical level as psychic.

To take advantage of the regenerating and revitalizing properties of stones outside of lithotherapy sessions, it is possible to wear them as a pendant, a bracelet, in your pocket or even to place them in the living room.

Depending on the stones, they would have the ability to calm, tone, balance, soothe, etc. Choosing it well means taking the time to look at it, to hold it in your hand to feel its vibrations. Above all, it is to choose it according to these virtues. After the acquisition of a stone, it is normally advisable to “purify” it, to “recharge” it, by putting it in the sun or on a cluster of quartz.

The benefits of lithotherapy

Lithotherapy would help overcome many difficulties. Let us quote for example:

  • the stress ;
  • anxiety;
  • exhaustion;
  • sleep disturbances;
  • mental agitation;
  • joint pain;
  • or the lack of self-confidence.

The power of stones in practice

There are many, many stones, each with its own unique properties. Among the long list are for example:

  • amethyst: it made it possible to balance excess and lack, and to pacify the relationship with authority;
  • the carnelian: it would be the stone of the woman, able to be reconciled with her femininity. It would also be useful for developing intuition and self-confidence;
  • rose quartz: it would make it possible to regain the energy of love after a shock, a disappointment, a rupture…;
  • blue calcite: it would allow better expression in public, it would have anti-stress properties;
  • lapis lazuli: it would make it possible to be more objective;
  • amber: it would reduce allergic reactions and promote tissue revitalization. In addition, it would provide relief for people with asthma;
  • red garnet: it would stimulate vital energy and regulate sexuality. It would also help stimulate creativity;
  • citrine: it would give strength and energy, day to live, security and optimism. It would also make it possible to balance the positioning of the ego;
  • amazonite: it would regulate mood variations and soothe;
  • jade: it would bring courage, modesty, wisdom, appeasement, relaxation, inner peace;
  • emerald: it allowed to erase anger, to strengthen the immune system.

Does it work ?

There is no scientific evidence for the virtues of stones, nor for the existence of a “specific energy present in stones.” Therefore, this unconventional medicine is called pseudo-science.

For some, it is a question of the placebo effect, and therefore of conviction. In other words, for the stones to give good results, it is necessary to believe in them… to believe in their properties and benefits.

Others believe it is a question of quantum physics. According to this science, matter – which we see solid – is in fact for the most part an empty space bathed in energy and animated by vibrations. From this perspective, lithotherapy made it possible to bring energy to an organ or a specific area or on the contrary to get rid of it (if in excess).
