PSYchology

Remember how in the first grade we were told: «Sit up straight, do not slouch!» We had no idea how important this is. Proper posture is not only a guarantee of spinal health and “easy” breathing. It also stimulates self-confidence and a positive attitude.

Remember how in the first grade we were told: «Sit up straight, do not slouch!» We had no idea how important this is. Proper posture is not only a guarantee of spinal health and “easy” breathing. It also stimulates self-confidence and a positive attitude. Psychologist of Ohio State University (USA) Richard Petty (Richard Petty) invited students to participate in a simple experiment: one to sit upright, the other to stoop and fill out questionnaires in these positions, evaluating their professional skills. Young people with correct posture had a higher opinion of their abilities, but were also more categorical in describing their character traits, both positive and negative. “When we keep our back straight, we, without realizing it, feel more confident, trust ourselves more and treat ourselves better,” the psychologist explains the results of the experiment. “And, most amazingly, we begin to think more positively.”
