Listen not to eat: the new food trend

Videos featuring various food-related sounds are gaining popularity on the web. They are simple in nature and simply mesmerizing in terms of energy.

Cooking has been found to be calming. And it doesn’t matter if you are directly involved in the process or become an observer. Based on this observation, a new trend has emerged – listening to how someone prepares food.

Moreover, most often short videos are devoted to some separate sounds: cutting an air meringue with a knife, opening soda, eating honey with a honeycomb. Or a separate product.

The videos are really calming. They are often watched before bed as a remedy to relieve daytime anxiety and relax. The voices of bloggers who speak in half whispers, along with relaxing sounds such as pouring milk into a glass, banging a whisk, or cracking eggshells, are soothing and sensory experiences.

Now these videos are gaining a lot of views. They are called ASMR.-video. ASMR. (autonomous sensory meridional response) is a term that has arisen in Internet culture for a phenomenon of perception, characterized by a distinct pleasant tingling sensation in the scalp or other parts of the body in response to certain visual, auditory and / or cognitive stimuli.

Here’s an example of this kind of video – a 20-minute video about bread. Bread and only bread, the girl taps on it, tears, eats – and has already collected more than 300 views.
