Brogans is an Irish cream liqueur from First Ireland Spirits, launched on the market in 1998. The drink is named after the owner of the company, Pat Brogan (Pat Brogan), contains 17% vol. alcohol and is made on the basis of aged single malt Irish whiskey and selected farm cream.
According to unverified reports, Pat Brogan used to be a farmer, raised cows and was engaged in milk production. It seems like he even collaborated with Baileys until he started producing his own Irish cream at the age of 37.
On the label of Brogans it is written that its name is associated with the legendary Irish scribe Brogan. This character may have lived during the time of St. Patrick and recorded the myths and legends of Ireland for future generations.
Taste
The bouquet of Brogans liquor is dominated by notes of cocoa and sweet vanilla, whiskey, chocolate and roasted almonds are felt in the aftertaste. The drink has a thick velvety texture, it is easy to drink and warms well.
The liqueur is available in three versions:
- The Original (original);
- Cinnamon (cinnamon);
- Cappuccino (coffee).

Cocktails with Brogans
Brogan’s is a good replacement for Bailey’s in cocktails.
mudslide: one part vodka, coffee liqueur and cream liqueur, one and a half parts heavy cream. Mix everything in an ice-filled shaker, serve with chocolate chips.
Autumn Chai Swizzle: brew masala tea, add 2 teaspoons of cane sugar to it, add cream liqueur in a ratio of 3: 2.
Irish Coffee: Pour equal parts Irish whiskey and cream liqueur into freshly brewed coffee, serve with whipped cream and caramel syrup.
Snickertini: In an ice-filled shaker, mix one part cream and chocolate liqueurs, amaretto, three parts caramel vodka. Serve with chocolate and caramel syrup.
Irish Cactus: pour ice into an old-fashioned glass, pour 2 parts cream liqueur and 1 part tequila, mix.
Difference between Baileys and Brogans
Buyers often compare Brogans with the most famous Irish cream – Baileys – and always note that the lesser-known brand is in no way inferior to its illustrious “colleague”. Brogan’s Benefits:
- Softer texture.
- Complex and bright bouquet.
- Affordable price (on average 25% cheaper than Bailey’s).
