Life-shortening foods: you eat them every day
They are in every kitchen, and we eat them without thinking whether they are really useful or can harm.
Green tea contains as much caffeine as a large cup of espresso, and prunes that have been treated with sulfur dioxide are deadly. In the program “Conspiracy Theory” of Channel One, which aired on June 11, experts made a list of what other foods we eat almost every day shorten our lives.
This product is always at hand. We are sure it is very useful. Therefore, we are treated with it for colds, and we just love to eat – with bacon or borscht. Summer residents spray their garden with garlic tincture, all pests die from it. But garlic can be dangerous for humans as well. Firstly, due to the content of sulfone-hydroxyl ion, in other words, hydrogen sulfide. It enters the brain cells and kills them. Scientists even conducted an experiment and found that garlic slows down the reaction rate by 2-3 times. Secondly, garlic can be dangerous due to its high copper content, and an excess of copper in the body shortens life. But you shouldn’t give up garlic. You just need to eat it correctly and not exceed the permissible daily dose – no more than a head per day.
Even in ordinary chain stores, there is already more of it than black. And for example, in India, one of the most “tea” countries, they drink only black tea, and green is considered dangerous. Why? Green tea has a lot of caffeine – just like coffee. And this tea raises blood pressure and can cause a heart attack. We’ve heard about this, but are still not sure if this is the case. In addition, green tea contains theine. It is harmful to the cardiovascular system and nerve cells.
Is there any benefit in green tea? Sure. It is an antioxidant, it invigorates and rejuvenates. The same Indians do not drink it just because they do not know how to brew it correctly. And without proper brewing, it shortens life.
Several studies have been conducted by American scientists that have shown that the consumption of animal meat reduces life expectancy. One study from Harvard Medical School claims that eating an extra serving a day of unprocessed red meat increases the overall risk of death by 13%. The researchers suspect saturated fat and high amounts of sodium are to blame.
It is considered a super-useful product, but only if it has not been treated with sulfur dioxide (additive E220). Dried fruits should always be washed before eating, just like regular fruits. Due to the calorie content and a large amount of fruit sugar, prunes should not be eaten by diabetics and those who follow the figure. Young mothers should also be afraid of prunes: they can cause an upset stomach and colic in an infant due to its laxative effect.
In the summer, we eat more of it than usual, and out of habit we look for ice cream in stores. However, Roskontrol recently found vegetable fats in the ice cream, which, by definition, should not be there. Palm oil is carcinogenic when cooked. And ice cream is first heated – boiled, and then sharply cooled. This is a double blow.
So how do you recognize vegetable fat if you don’t have impeccable taste buds? First, the manufacturer is obliged to prescribe in the composition “vegetable fats” or “palm oil”. If there is no such thing in the composition, pay attention to the calorie content: in an ice cream, the mass fraction of fat should be at least 13%. Optimal composition – natural cow’s milk, pasteurized, condensed whole with sugar; condensed and dry cream; cow butter; chicken eggs and various flavors.
A dangerous palm oil treat should be called butter-ice cream or vegetable-cream ice cream, not ice cream.
Freshly squeezed fruit juice
It is believed that this is a charge of vitamins for the whole day. But if you drink fresh juices without restriction, you can get an overdose of vitamins. And also juice is fructose in its pure form, without fiber. For some diseases, freshly squeezed juices are contraindicated. So, with a stomach ulcer, exacerbation of gastritis and pancreatitis, you should not drink juices with a sour taste: lemon, orange, apple, currant, cranberry. They increase the acidity of gastric juice and can cause heartburn and pain.
– There are constant disputes about the benefits and harms of individual products. But do not forget about the golden rule of nutrition: it must be balanced and varied. Only in this case the body will receive a sufficient amount of nutrients, and food will bring not only pleasure, but also benefit. If there are no health restrictions, you can use any quality food in reasonable quantities.
Meat is a source of protein, B vitamins, it contains a large amount of iron, zinc and phosphorus. They are necessary to maintain metabolic processes, the work of the endocrine and nervous systems. The general recommendation is to try not to overuse fatty foods. Beef, pork, lamb are best stewed, baked or cooked over a fire. To make the digestive system easier to work, serve a dish with vegetables or herbs, they contain fiber, which helps the digestion of heavy foods. Garlic is also rich in nutrients. For example, it contains phytoncides that fight bacteria. But it stimulates the production of gastric juice, so you cannot eat it on an empty stomach, and people with gastrointestinal diseases should minimize its use.
