😉 Greetings to regular readers and visitors of the site! The fact that life in motion is known to everyone, but “to know” and “observe” are incompatible things for many.
The modern world is sedentary. A comfortable sofa and an armchair tempts to relax after working days, as a rule, “sedentary”. People in a hurry take all the seats in public transport to “immerse themselves” in their smartphones again.
Movement is power and the chair is the grave
Man is made for constant movement. The habit of sitting 13 hours a day, which has developed in the modern world, is unnatural. In an upright position, standing, pressure on the back is shared by the hips and knees, and the ankle and feet (in particular the heels).
This does not happen while sitting, because this position is temporary in order to take a breath from physical exertion. Interestingly, while sitting on your back, there is twice as much pressure as if you are standing, and eight times more if you are lying down.
In the twisted seated mode, the body also allows the muscles to relax. Enzyme activity drops by 90%. The load is removed from the muscle corset, passing to the spine, pelvis and intervertebral discs.
The sitter drives himself into a trap. The human spine only suffers from this too long “rest”. As a result, an unpleasant sensation appears in the lower back, which develops into pain.
In addition to problems with the musculoskeletal system (for example, osteochondrosis), sitting leads to problems with the psyche, vision, obesity and even the immune system. Experts say that if you do not move for more than 10 hours a day, the risk of heart and vascular diseases increases more than two times.
Active lifestyle
When a person lacks movement, the risk of urological diseases in men and gynecological diseases in women increases. From a passive lifestyle, fat is not burned, blood circulation slows down, and fatty acids clog blood vessels. There is stagnation of blood and fluids in the limbs.
The worst thing about the sofa lifestyle is that it destroys not only the body. Being seated gives rise to a sedentary mind. And the point here is not the laziness that regular sitting on the fifth point generates. The fact is that from sedentary everyday life, the human brain becomes “sofa” in its structure.
It is enough to spend only three months without physical activity – sitting in an armchair or lying on a sofa, for the shape of the processes of brain cells to change. And changes in the structure of the brain lead to the fact that it begins to give the wrong signals.
This trend was demonstrated by an experiment of neuroscientists in rodents. The experience consisted in the fact that some animals were left with the possibility of free movement, others were restricted in movement. Three months later, scientists noticed a difference in the structure of the rodents’ brains.
In those that did not move, the brain cells were overgrown with processes, so the reaction to stimuli in these rodents was noticeably different from the reaction to them of active individuals. Thus, the “chronic chair addict” also disrupts the processes associated with information processing.
But all is not lost for the sitters. The brain, like muscles, has a good ability to adapt. Therefore, when a person begins to walk more, move and sit less, his brain after some time gets used to the new regime of its owner and forgets about the “sedentary lifestyle.”
It has been proven that it is more useful to study and work while standing. Working in an upright position stimulates the muscle contractions necessary for the body, which help break down fats and sugars, maintain good tone and strengthen the musculoskeletal system.
😉 Finally leave your chair – and go! People who lead an active way of being live on average six years longer than “lazy people”.
