Let’s take an example! Australia denies benefits for not vaccinating

Calmly! It’s not here, it’s in Australia. But who knows, suddenly the example will be contagious.

No vaccinations – no money. Radically? Maybe yes. Is it effective? Let’s see.

In our country, as you know, you can simply give up on the creation of collective immunity, on all medical recommendations and simply refuse to vaccinate a child. No censure or punishment will follow.

The opponents of vaccination have a lot of arguments. Not too scientific, but nonetheless. The “refuseniks” are actively campaigning for their position. This is also not forbidden. But doctors are scared that more and more young mothers are listening to them. Potential here and now side effects scare them more than hypothetical sweat infections. But what threatens the rejection of vaccinations, Romania has already shown by its sad example – there was recently recorded the largest outbreak of measles.

No, in Australia “thinking out loud” is also not prohibited. But you will have to answer for your principles. Since the beginning of 2016, in some regions of the country, the rule has been in effect: no vaccinations (except for situations for medical reasons) – no money. More precisely, payments that are due to families with children. And this, by the way, is up to 15 thousand Australian dollars per year (about 670 thousand rubles).

Two cities were chosen for the experiment – Adelaide and Gold Coast. It was here that the highest percentage of vaccine refusals was recorded. And local officials did not disagree with their deeds. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 140 thousand families with children under five years old have lost their payments. So, it turned out that it works. In the battle of wallet and principles, wallet confidently won. According to health officials, 2016 more children were vaccinated in 200 than a year earlier.

– This is good news, but we still have a lot to do, – he quotes Australian information portal the words of the Minister of Health of the country, Greg Hunt. – And we will continue this tough policy, because we are talking about the health of the population and the safety of our beautiful children.
