Lemongrass syrup: 2 recipes at home

Simple Fresh Lemongrass Syrup

Ingredients

  1. Water – 1 cup

  2. Sugar – 1 cup

  3. Lemongrass stalks – 2-4 sticks

Method of preparation

  1. The first step is to finely chop the lemongrass stems.

  2. Then, from sugar and water, prepare a base syrup in a ratio of 1 to 1.

  3. After that, over low heat, move the chopped lemongrass to the base syrup and cook for another 15 minutes.

  4. Remove from the stove, filter the syrup through a sieve, bottle tightly.

  5. Store in refrigerator. Guaranteed shelf life – 2 weeks.

  1. Ginger – 570 g

  2. Water – 2 cup

  3. Sugar – 6 cups

  4. Lemongrass stalks – 3 sticks

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the ginger thoroughly. You don’t need to peel it off, but break off any hanging parts. Coarsely chop the ginger and lemongrass, transfer them to a blender and add 2 cups of water.

  2. Beat until the mixture resembles a puree, scraping the sides a few times with a spoon.

  3. Now you need to filter and squeeze out all the liquid, and discard the cake. You should have about 4 cups of liquid.

  4. If you didn’t get 4 cups, the ginger was most likely stale, in which case just add more water to get the desired result.

  5. Pour the liquid into a large saucepan along with 6 cups of sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat until boiling.

  6. The impurities that make the juice cloudy will float to the top as foam, so be sure to skim it off with a spoon.

  7. After the foam stops forming, the syrup is ready!

  8. You can pour the hot syrup into sterilized glass bottles or let it cool and transfer it to a suitable vacuum container.

  9. Guaranteed shelf life in the refrigerator is 6 months.
