Lemon for cosmetic purposes

Lemon is good in every way: rich in vitamins, good for health and available all year round. What is the best way to use it for cosmetic purposes? A few hints.

Lemon has many advantages – it is both an antioxidant and a source of vitamin C, it tones the skin well and gently fights excess sebum. You can use both lemon and lime for cosmetic purposes. They will help in the care of nails, skin, teeth and hair. Moreover, you can use all the “components” of citrus fruits: zest, juice and pulp.

Refresh complexion and remove dark circles under the eyes

  • Rich in vitamin C, lemon is a natural antioxidant, which means it can help get rid of dark circles under the eyes and give the skin a radiant healthy look.
  • If you need an “ambulance” – squeeze the juice of half a lemon, dilute it with a little warm water and wipe your face and neck.
  • For regular care, try a mild cream: mix the juice of a quarter of a lemon with four tablespoons of honey, warm it up a little and apply to cleansed face. Wash off after 5-7 minutes.
  • To reduce dark circles under the eyes, it is useful to apply cotton pads soaked in lemon juice under the eyes every evening for 10 minutes. Be careful: the main thing is that lemon juice does not get into your eyes.

Attention: after such procedures, you should not stay in the sun for a long time and expose the skin to direct ultraviolet rays.

Smooth out wrinkles

Vitamin C is necessary for our cells to produce collagen, which means that lemon is a good helper in the fight against wrinkles. Mix 200 ml of milk and 150 ml of heavy cream and heat the mixture on the stove without boiling. Remove from the heat and soak the sliced ​​lemon half in it for a few hours. The tool is suitable for daily use in the morning and evening – just wipe your face with it, and the result will not be long in coming.

Defeat oily sheen

Citric acid is a natural exfoliant – exfoliator. Thanks to its chemical properties, it does a great job with dead skin and acne. To make a homemade scrub, combine two tablespoons of lemon juice, a tablespoon of powdered sugar, and a tablespoon of olive oil. Apply to face in circular motions and rinse immediately with cold water.

Attention: this procedure is quite aggressive, so you should not do it more than once a week.

Heal hair and give it shine

  • Lemon has a drying property, which means it is suitable for those who quickly get dirty hair. Apply lemon juice along the entire length of the hair, paying special attention to the scalp (to do this, put a few drops of lemon juice on a cotton pad and gently blot the skin with it). Rinse your hair thoroughly after treatment to avoid irritation. It is better to do such a mask in courses as needed – every day for one week.
  • To restore shine and smoothness to hair, the following remedy works well: mix 2 teaspoons of lemon juice with 8 tablespoons of honey and 12 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture to your hair and leave for 10 minutes.
  • If you have fine blonde hair, try this recipe: Apply the juice of 2-3 lemons to washed hair and rinse. When interacting with the sun, citric acid will lighten your hair a little and make the shade brighter and more beautiful, in addition, the hair will receive vitamins and other beneficial substances that are contained in lemon.

Strengthen your nails

Lemon not only helps fight brittle nails, but also stimulates their growth. Soak your nails for 10 minutes in a lemon juice bath and 10 minutes in an olive oil bath. Before washing off the oil, lightly massage each finger. It is recommended to do this procedure twice a week if the nails and the skin around them are completely healthy.

Whiten your teeth

The citric acid found in citrus fruits dissolves tartar. To get a dazzling smile, simply rub your teeth with the zest of a fresh lemon. You can also put a few drops of the juice on your brush and gently brush your teeth. Be careful – the procedure can be repeated no more than once a week, otherwise the enamel may be damaged.
