Lecalpin is a drug designed to block calcium channels. As a result, it acts on blood vessels and reduces the tension of smooth muscles in the vessel walls and has a dilating effect on them. Thus, it reduces peripheral vascular resistance, which lowers blood pressure.

How does Lecalpin work?

The main active ingredient in Lecalpinie jest lerkanidypinawhich, as a dihydropyridine derivative, is one of the calcium channel blockers. This substance is responsible for blocking the flow of calcium ions through the cell membrane, which reduces smooth muscle tone and dilates arterial vessels. Vasodilatation lowers blood pressure because peripheral vascular resistance is lowered, so that the heart is relieved and uses less energy and requires less oxygen. But at the same time lerkanidypina it does not affect the strength of contraction of the heart muscle, as it only affects the blood vessels.

Because Lecalpin is a drug with prolonged action, it is enough one tablet dailythat the blood pressure is lowered in people suffering from hypertension for the next 24 hours.
