Scientists advise to conduct at least part of the lessons, alternating standing and sitting work.
The child in the classroom should not sit still. This seemingly bizarre idea could help solve a variety of problems that children often have, including being overweight, inattentive, and hyperactive. So say physiologists from the Institute of Heart Problems and Diabetes in Melbourne (Australia)*. Standing desks have already become part of an experiment in one of the Australian schools. During the lessons, children alternate between standing and sitting. And special tests help to identify changes in their physical condition and well-being. By the way, some Russian schools also practice “standing education”**. Perhaps it makes sense for adults to remember the “desk”?
