PSYchology

According to his temperament, the leader is not necessarily a choleric, but the temperament of a choleric helps to capture and retain leadership exceptionally. That is why among young people sanguine people, choleric people and other types with more external energy often become leaders. However, with age, the high tempo rhythm becomes more internal, and the outwardly self-confident middle-aged leader behaves rather slowly.

Accordingly, your minimum task is to develop the temperament of a choleric in yourself, the maximum task is to learn how to flexibly change your tempo, naturally changing your energy in a wide range: once living and reacting explosively, sharply and at maximum speed, once slowly, solidly and smoothly.

Both will serve you to great advantage — by slowing yourself down in a controlled manner, you:

1) can use pause pressure effectively,

2) get extra time to think about your reactions,

3) make a more adult and solid impression.

On the other hand, by increasing your pace, becoming faster, louder and brighter, you are ahead of those around you both in thoughts and actions, and also charge yourself and those around you with energy.

Tempo is primarily an internal thing. Any actor will tell you that you can speak outwardly quickly with an inwardly slow tempo,

and you can speak slowly … but at the same time be internally on edge, with an increased energy potential and scroll through everything inside yourself twice as fast as usual. And the person listening to you reacts first of all to your internal tempo-rhythm, to your internal speed and your internal energy tension.

So, what can you work onby increasing the pace?

  • Gait: Walk faster and with more energy.
  • Gestures: put in more movement, even if it’s erratic at first.
  • Speech: Speak not faster, but more energetically. Put more emotions into words, analyze less on a conscious level what I say and why.
  • Thinking process: evaluate immediately, estimate easier, make decisions faster.
  • Actions. Thought — did. At once. Now. Not postponing for later and not wondering if it is necessary.
