Cooking lazy cabbage rolls is within the power of even the most inexperienced housewife: it does not require a lot of time or any special culinary skills. But the taste of this dish is in no way inferior to traditional stuffed cabbage rolls.

Lazy cabbage rolls: a recipe

Necessary ingredients:

– 800 grams of pork or ground beef; – 2-3 medium-sized onions; – 150 grams of rice; – 500 grams of fresh white cabbage; – 450 grams of sour cream; – 5 tablespoons of tomato paste or ready-made tomato sauce; – salt; – black ground pepper; – bread crumbs.

Method of preparation:

Rinse the rice and boil in slightly salted water until tender. Pass the meat through a meat grinder along with onions, salt and pepper. Chop the white cabbage as thin as possible. Dip in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Then fold in a colander and let the water drain completely. Squeeze the cabbage out a little.

Mix minced meat with cabbage and boiled rice, add salt and spices to taste. Mix thoroughly to distribute food evenly. Form small cutlets from the resulting mass, patting on all sides. Then, roll the cabbage rolls in breadcrumbs, fry them in a pan in well-heated vegetable oil until golden brown.

Grease a deep baking sheet with vegetable oil and put stuffed cabbage rolls on it in dense rows. Stir the tomato sauce with sour cream and salt. Pour the cabbage rolls with sour cream and tomato sauce, leaving no dry places. Bake cabbage rolls in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 45-50 minutes.

To prevent lazy cabbage rolls from burning during baking, it is recommended to line the bottom of the baking sheet with boiled cabbage

When serving, sprinkle with fresh, finely chopped herbs.

Lean lazy cabbage rolls: recipe

Necessary ingredients:

– 1 kilogram of mushrooms; – 2 onions; – 2 red carrots; – 200 grams of rice; – 500 grams of white cabbage; – 100-120 grams of vegetable oil; – salt; – 1 bay leaf; – ground black pepper.

Method of preparation:

Boil the mushrooms for 5-6 minutes in salted water and cut into small pieces. Heat vegetable oil in a large deep frying pan or cauldron and fry finely chopped onions. Add finely chopped or grated carrots and fry for a few minutes. Then add the mushrooms and fry for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finely chop the white cabbage and add to the fried vegetables. Stir, salt and pepper, pour in 150 ml of water, put the bay leaf and cover tightly. Simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes.

Add washed rice to the stewed vegetables, smooth and pour in water: it should cover the rice and vegetables by 1,5-2 cm. Turn on the heat and, having evaporated almost all the water, make a few indentations in the rice with a knife to the bottom.
