Champagne Lazur (Lazur) is a carbonated wine cocktail with bright glittery shades, which is produced by the Bravo Premium plant in St. Petersburg. The drink shimmers with blue, pink and golden colors and resembles the products of the Spanish company Aviva, the most popular producer of multi-colored sparkling wines. The company is part of the Rust group of companies.
Historical information
Bravo International was founded in 1994 by Icelandic businessmen Thor Bjorgolfsson and Magnus Thorsteinsson. Entrepreneurs built a plant in St. Petersburg, which at first specialized in the production of Korona lemonade. Then, low-alcohol cocktails were added to the assortment, which were produced under the Bravo brand. In 1998, a brewery was added to the company’s assets, which became well known outside the region thanks to the Bochkarev beer brand.
Icelandic businessmen did not pay attention to the development of the cocktail direction and did not promote products. Later, the owners noted that their goal was to promote the company for a subsequent sale. By 2002, the Bravo plant produced only four types of cocktails, which appeared in advertising only once – in the humorous program “Gorodok”. In the same year, the company was acquired by the beer concern Heineken.
The new management was faced with a low production volume – the plant produced almost half the production of its closest competitors. The owners took the brand image seriously by launching an advertising campaign aimed at a young audience – the main consumer of low-alcohol products. The assortment was replenished with two dozen cocktails with new flavors, as well as energy drinks.
However, it was not possible to promote the Heineken brand – the lack of well-established distribution channels prevented it. In 2005, the beer concern sold the plant to the Rust group of companies, a major producer and distributor of strong drinks, the owner of the well-known Zelenaya Marka and Parliament vodka brands. The new owners equipped a line for bottling sparkling wines at Bravo Premium.
Champagne Lazur appeared in 2015. The drink is made from a blend of dry wines, which are brought to St. Petersburg from Italian grape processing enterprises. Wine materials are diluted with water to the desired strength, the drink is saturated with carbon dioxide, and at the bottling stage, food coloring with shiny particles is added to the bottles, which, when shaken, give the sparkling wine a bright festive color. In conclusion, a label is put on the neck with information about the Lazur AR mobile application. Customers can download the program to their smartphone, scan the label and see the incendiary dance of Mr. banana.
