Laying or layering (from English layering) – the creation of layered cocktails by stacking liquids one on top of the other using a bar spoon or special gadgets. It implies knowledge of the density of various cocktail ingredients (alcoholic drinks, juices, syrups), due to the level of sugar content in them, as well as the strength of each of them.
