A lawn mower is a useful garden tool, however, its operation is associated with increased danger, both due to the sharpness of the knives and due to fuel or electricity, depending on the type of engine. Therefore, there are a number of rules for safe operation.

The most important thing that is written in all instructions for all such mechanisms is to carefully read the instructions, keep it in an accessible place and in no case throw it away. The second thing to remember is that only serviceable inventory can be operated. Each time before use it is necessary to check the integrity of the unit. Thirdly, when operating the mechanism, children, pets and all strangers must be removed from the grass mowing area.
Fourth – if there is a need to suspend work, then the inventory must be completely turned off. Fifth, move only forward and at low speed, the unit must be pushed in front of you, but in no case should you pull it towards you. The only exception is a turn, and for further mowing, the mechanism must again be pushed in front of you. Sixth – it is recommended to mow on a flat surface, without pits and mounds over 5 cm, so that the knife and shaft are not clogged with earth. Also, before mowing, it is better to remove stones, branches, and debris from the site.
Use the mechanism with extreme caution on sloped areas. It is forbidden to work in rain, thunderstorm or heavy dew. All these rules apply to both gasoline and electric machines. When refueling gasoline units, it is recommended to adhere to the following additional rules:
- do not smoke while refueling;
- pour fuel only into a cooled tank;
- refuel the lawn mower immediately before work and in the open air;
- keep clean, removing all traces of oil and fuel, the engine itself, the exhaust port, the fuel tank.
The most dangerous element of an electric lawnmower is the battery. Before each use, make sure that it is not damaged.

Lawn mower maintenance
Before the first use, the gasoline engine must be filled with engine oil, or the electric battery must be charged, observing the time specified in the instructions. Take your lawnmower to a specialist workshop for maintenance or replacement of parts. In case of strong vibration of the device, it is necessary to stop it and turn off the engine. After turning off the electric lawn mower and waiting for the unit to cool, remove the battery. It must be stored in a dry and well-ventilated area.
After the gasoline engine has cooled down, it is recommended to remove the spark plug cap. Changing the height of the blades and wheels, the speed of rotation of the blades, cleaning or attaching the grass catcher should only be carried out according to the instructions and after turning off the engine. After mowing, the mechanism should cool down in the open air, without access to it for children and animals.
