Lavash is a thin Caucasian bread that looks more like a leaf, and salmon is a delicious red fish. It would seem, what can such dissimilar products have in common? But if you skillfully combine one with the other, and even add several other components, you get a wonderful cold appetizer – a pita roll with salmon.
Lavash roll with salmon can be served with both everyday and festive tables. In addition, lavash with salmon is prepared simply and quickly. There are many options for filling, for example, you can combine salmon with herbs, various vegetables.
Lavash roll with salted salmon, cream cheese and herbs: cooking method
Required ingredients for cooking: – 1 pita bread; – 200 grams of salted salmon; – 150-200 grams of Viola cream cheese or similar; – 1 small bunch of dill.
Cut the salted salmon into small pieces. Rinse, dry and finely chop the dill. Toss the herbs with the cream cheese. Spread the resulting mixture with a thin layer on half a sheet of pita bread. Cover with the other half, smooth slightly. Place the salmon on top, cut into small thin slices. Try to use fresh pita bread so that you can curl it easily.
If the lavash has time to harden, sprinkle it with a little warm water and wait until it becomes soft again.
Carefully wrap the resulting roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1–2 hours. This is necessary in order for it to be thoroughly saturated. Remove the film, cut into portions about 1,5–2 centimeters thick. You can cut both across the roll and obliquely. Place the salmon pita rolls on a platter and serve.
Instead of dill, you can use other herbs, for example, parsley, cilantro, celery.
Lavash roll with canned salmon: cooking method
Required ingredients for cooking: – 1 pita bread; – 1 can of canned salmon in its own juice; – 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or sour cream; – 100 grams of hard cheese; – salt; – ground black pepper to taste.
Put the fish out of the tin, drain off the excess liquid. Mash the salmon with a fork, add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or sour cream, season with salt, pepper and stir. Grate the cheese on a medium grater, add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and stir as well.
Apply a mixture of cheese with mayonnaise (sour cream) to half a sheet of pita bread, distribute evenly. Cover with the other half, apply a mixture of salmon and mayonnaise. Roll, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate. After 1–2 hours, remove the foil, cut the roll and serve.
Lavash roll with salmon and fresh cucumbers: cooking method
The filling for a pita roll can be very different. For example, you can make a pita roll with salmon and fresh cucumbers or tomatoes.
Required ingredients for cooking:
– 1 pita bread; – 150-200 grams of salted salmon;
– 1 cucumber; – 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or sour cream.
Cut the salmon into small thin slices, the cucumber into very thin slices. Spread a sheet of pita bread, brush half of it with mayonnaise or sour cream, spread the salmon. Cover with the other half, brush with mayonnaise (sour cream), spread the cucumber slices. Twist the roll, cover with cling film and refrigerate for several hours. When the roll has cooled and soaked, cut it into portions and serve.
Tomatoes can be used instead of cucumbers. Cut them into thin slices with a very sharp knife, let the excess liquid drain. Next, prepare the dish as described above.
Lavash roll with smoked salmon: cooking method
You can cook pita bread with salmon, using not salted fish, but smoked fish. As a result, the dish will turn out to be very tasty.
Required ingredients for cooking: – 1 pita bread; – 300 grams of smoked salmon (hot or cold smoked); – 2 cloves of garlic; – 1 bunch of dill; – 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or sour cream; – a pinch of salt.
Cut the smoked salmon into thin slices. Finely chop the garlic and washed greens, grind with salt until a homogeneous gruel is formed. Spread it on a sheet of pita bread. Spread the salmon plates evenly on top. Roll the pita bread with the filling into a roll, cover with cling film and cool in the refrigerator. It is best if you leave the roll in the refrigerator overnight, as it will turn out to be especially tender.

Other options for filling for pita roll
You can also make delicious pita rolls with less expensive and gourmet fish. For example, if we are talking about red fish, salmon can be successfully replaced by cheaper pink salmon or char. An excellent filling for such rolls will be made from smoked pike perch, catfish, pike, bream, etc. As additional components, cottage cheese, feta cheese, pickled cucumbers, olives are well suited. In a word, every culinary specialist, when preparing a pita bread roll with fish, can use the available ingredients and focus exclusively on his own taste.
