Everyone feels pain differently. There are those who can take a lot of it, while others are not immune to it. The pain line for each of us is slightly different. Fortunately, there are many ways to deal with pain. The various anesthetics are the most common. However, this is not the only possibility. More and more often, we can get laughing gas in delivery rooms and in dentists’ offices.

It is a method that has become widespread especially in dentistry and as a way to treat various ailments related to childbirth, as well as during dressing changes and during the postoperative period. Laughing gas is intended to reduce pain and to relax the body in general.
Inhalation sedation is performed with the use of nitrous oxide and oxygen, and is administered through a special mask adapted to the patient’s age and face, which is put on the nose. Laughing gas it works almost instantaneously. From the lungs, it enters the bloodstream and then reaches the brain in about 15 seconds.

It’s worth applying laughing gas especially in children who suffer from asthma, epilepsy or other illnesses that may experience a stress-induced attack.
Use inhalation sedation requires certain precautions when visiting the dentist. First of all, it is worth remembering that before serving laughing gas you should not eat for about 2-3 hours.
As for children, they should be monitored throughout the day of the procedure, but adults do not require any special precautions. Before and after the party laughing gas it is not allowed to drink alcohol, and it is possible to drive a motor vehicle an hour after the procedure.

Childbirth with laughing gas it is convenient because the woman herself decides how often she wants to take the gas. It does not adversely affect the labor as it causes the uterus to relax and does not lower the oxygen level in the blood. How best to apply laughing gas? It is recommended that you inhale it at the beginning or just before contraction, but the final effect of this method depends on the individual organism.
As with any measure, also laughing gas may cause some side effectsalthough it must be admitted that they are not common. After using this method, you may experience dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, tingling sensation.
In very rare cases, you may become unconscious. Use in children laughing gas may cause vomiting and nausea. You should also pay special attention to the medications you are taking, because laughing gas may interact with some substances.
