What helps us to feel a strong attraction to each other? Laughter and fear, says Arthur Aron, researcher at the University of New York (USA).
After conducting a series of experiments with psychologist Barbara Fraley, he found that love relationships are easily established if strangers are together in a funny situation: it creates a feeling of closeness between strangers.
Earlier, in the famous “Wobbling Bridge Experiment” conducted in the 1970s with psychologist Don Dutton, Arthur Aron found that shared fear increases the chance of developing romantic feelings for a stranger.
It turned out that men who met a woman on a high swinging bridge over an abyss considered her much more sexy and romantic than the one that was met on a low and solid bridge.
