What is the so-called “halo effect”?

The “halo effect” consists in the fact that around the light sources you can see circular fringes, the so-called “halos”. This is a light effect observed by the patient only at night. What are the contraindications for laser vision correction surgery?

The good news is that the vast majority of patients qualify for the procedure. The procedure is not performed on children and adolescents under the age of 18, and there is no upper age limit. However, the limit is the size of the defect and possible medical contraindications: unstable vision defect, pregnancy and breastfeeding, pathological changes on the cornea, macular degeneration (AMD), cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinal disorders, autoimmune diseases or severe allergies.
