Irritation or damage to the throat mucosa causes pain and a feeling of dryness. Larimax preparations are used to eliminate discomfort in the oral cavity. However, Larimax T Spray and Larmax Hydro differ in composition, action and dosage.
Larimax T spray
Larimax T is a medical device intended for use by adults and children from 2 years of age. It is recommended in the case of irritation or inflammation of the oropharyngeal mucosa. Larimax T Spray works by covering the irritated and damaged mucosa with a protective layer, thus keeping it moist and elastic. The medical device reduces discomfort and the feeling of scratching in the throat, and also facilitates swallowing.
The medical device contains natural oils. The composition of Larimax T is vegetable oil, sea buckthorn oil, bergamot oil and marigold flower oil extract.
How to use Larimax T Spray aerosol:
- before using the product, shake it and turn the dispenser by 90 degrees,
- then direct the mouth of the dispenser towards the mouth,
- spray the liquid in the mouth (one dose is 200 ml),
- clean the dispenser and turn it back to its original position.
The manufacturer’s recommended dosage of Larimax T Spray is 3 doses a day. This frequency should be maintained until the symptoms of the disease disappear. If there is no improvement, contact your doctor.
Contraindications to the use of Larimax T Spray are allergic reactions to any of the ingredients. In addition, the following precautions should be taken:
- in the case of children under 6 years of age, the use of Larimax T Spray should be monitored by a doctor,
- contact of this medical device with eyes should be avoided,
- protect clothing while taking it, as the preparation may leave stains,
- for hygiene reasons, the Larimax T Spray can only be used by one person,
- the product should be stored at room temperature, out of the reach of children,
- Larimax T Spray cannot be used after its expiry date, and after opening it should be used within 3 months.
Larimax Hydro for the throat
Larimax Hydro is a medical device for oral use in the case of cough, hoarseness, burning and sore throat, as well as dry mouth. The preparation moisturizes and covers the irritated mucosa of the throat and mouth with a protective layer. It works well as a drug supporting the treatment of inflammation. Larimax Hydro can be used by adults and children from 1 year of age. It is especially recommended for those who are exposed to inconvenient conditions such as straining the vocal cords by speaking or singing, staying in an air-conditioned or intensely heated room, or breathing polluted air.
Larimax Hydro includes: demineralized water, Icelandic lichen extract, linden extract, mallow extract, lemon flavor, sodium hyaluronate, benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, xylitol, glycerin.
The Larimax Hydro leaflet states that the use should take place after a meal. Before use, shake the bottle and then spray the preparation on the back of the throat.
Dosage of Larimax Hydro:
- adults – 2-3 doses several times a day, according to the needs and recommendations of the doctor,
- children after 1 year of age – 1-2 doses several times a day, also according to the needs or recommendations of a doctor.
A contraindication to taking Larimax Hydro is hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. In children, use should be monitored by a doctor. In addition, during use, precautions should be taken:
- store the preparation at a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, out of the reach of small children,
- as part of hygiene, do not share Larimax Hydro with others,
- do not use after the expiry date and if the packaging is damaged.
Larimax – dinner
Both variants of the preparation are available in pharmacies without a prescription. Larimax T Spray costs about PLN 20 for a 20 ml package. On the other hand, Larimax Hydro costs about PLN 16 for 30 ml.
