Lapponia (Lapponia) is an impeccable Finnish liqueur, which has a special softness, excellent taste and aroma of northern berries.
The high quality of liqueurs is based on centuries-old traditions. The history of the brand began in 1867, when the All-Russian Emperor Alexander II gave permission to the Turku merchant Andres Bernhard Norfods to make wines and liqueurs from Finnish berries (cloudberries, lingonberries, cranberries, sea buckthorn and blueberries).
Features of liquor production
All berries for the production of liquor are hand-picked in Lapland. Further, the production process itself takes place in four stages:
Isolation of berry extract by tincture of whole fruits in neutral alcohol with a strength of 30 degrees. The process takes 3 to 6 weeks.
Then the berry infusion is double distilled and diluted to 21% with natural berry juice and sugar syrup to achieve a harmonious taste and light sweetness.
The almost finished drink is aged for 60 days in special containers.
At the final stage, the liquor is cold-cleaned and then bottled.
An important component that is part of the berry liqueur is water. It is believed that it is the Finns who drink the purest water in the world, so it has a beneficial effect on the formation of the exquisite taste and aroma of all Lapponia liqueurs.
Despite the fact that in the XNUMXst century almost all enterprises are trying to mechanize and computerize a significant part of the processes, the liqueur manufacturer Lapponia still prefers human labor rather than a soulless machine. According to them, only a person can put a piece of his soul and love into the work.
