It is better to design your site in advance. The planting season begins in spring, so winter and early spring, before the snow has melted, is the best time to plan what your plot or garden will look like.
Rule 2. Think, draw, design
3 life hacks that will turn expectations into reality:
- think over everything to the smallest detail and take into account every detail;
- personally meet with a landscape designer, tell about your wishes and preferences, formulate and jointly draw a general idea of the garden;
- the first meeting must necessarily take place on the site that is planned to be transformed in order to assess its scale and come up with an idea that will not only change your site, but decorate it.
Rule 3. Be aware of fashion trends
In landscape design, there is no distinction between high and mainstream fashion. If you only count for high fashion that which requires a lot of money. For example, when they decorate the site with expensive plants – formed lindens, planted in the form of large squares.
No longer relevant:
Plots in a classic style: with symmetrical, clear and strict geometric shapes and lines, straight paths and classic flower beds.
Fashionable in 2017:
This year, the trend is a garden plot in the style of “New Wave”.

No: special, expensive, exotic plants, original shrubs.
Yes: simple plants from the wild: wildflowers, perennials, cereals.
Any garden can be made fashionable and stylish: both small and large.
If the garden area is small, visually expand. How?
- Decorate the area with small colors of pastel, soft colors.
- Make the paths not straight, but winding.
- Place all plants at the boundaries of the site, free the middle
If the garden plot is large, divide it into zones that flow from one to another. How?
Placing various architectural objects, or you can use hedges decorated with living plants.
