Landscaping of a country house
A year ago, on the site of this adult, fruitful and flowering garden in the Moscow Region Razdory there was a bare field. How this is possible, tell its creators – the landscape company IL NATURE.
Landscaping of a country house
The parameters of this garden The area of the plot is 50 acres. The main problem faced by its owners is the proximity of neighbors typical for Rublevka. The view of the neighboring plot was “blocked” with the help of hedges and alleys. The garden is planned in such a way that a person walking on it is constantly in the space, which is formed by alleys of flowering apple trees, a belvedere of oaks, berso (an alley planted from trees in the form of arches) of apple trees. Functional zones formed by groups of plants replace one another. A walk through such a garden can seem endless. The slight slope of the plot was used for the Tuscan style terraces.
Are all plots suitable for creating a garden? In the Moscow region, land is very expensive, and rarely anyone buys a plot, the size of which allows setting up a park like the famous Courans in France. But even on 20 acres, you can create a full-fledged garden. The “architecture” of the garden allows to visually enlarge the area, which creates the effect of infinity of perspective. The type of soil does not matter, because the land is locally replaced under each plant brought. The lawn is the finishing touch to your garden. Spreading lawns in Russia do not take root. They are suitable only in case of a wedding or funeral – when you urgently need to cover the unsightly part of the site. In other cases, the grass must be sown. There are a lot of options for lawns. From “Moorish”, with an abundance of wildflowers, to tight sporty. Seed germination time is two weeks. Sowing is done throughout the summer.
There are never many plants in the garden – the more colors, the better.
When will the Trees be Big? Straightaway. “If you systematically approach the creation of a garden, that is, make a detailed 3D model, an engineering project, then planting the plants will take only 1-2 weeks,” says the deputy. Ellina Kamanina, General Director of IL NATURE. “The owner should take the garden no less seriously than the construction of the house, otherwise there will be an imbalance in the perception of the whole ensemble.” “The best way to design a garden is in winter. Then, on the basis of a 3D model in a European nursery, it is necessary to reserve the plants for shipment to Russia. Planting is carried out from May to the end of July. In August, we are trying to complete the work so that the plants go into winter, having already built up the root system. ”
Bulbous and ground cover plants are planted along the path.

Where are the trees from? “Out of the woods, of course” – this is what the majority of Russian customers think … and they are wrong. Mature trees, shrubs and flowers are brought to Russia from European nurseries. It is believed that plants grown in northern Germany adapt best to our conditions. Unlike their forest counterparts, they are already prepared for transplantation. To do this, in nurseries, once every 4-5 years, they are formed a root system, transplanted to a new place, thereby “accustoming” the plant to the transplanting process. Trees and shrubs from the nursery (not only formed and topiary *) are specially trimmed. Trying to grow such a linden alley like in this garden by yourself is practically useless. The trees forming the alley must have absolutely smooth trunks of the same height and thickness. Their crowns should start at the same level. It is almost impossible to “fit” the trees dug in the forest to these parameters.
There is a fence of decorative apple trees along the fence.
Abundance of flowering rhododendrons in the coniferous part of the garden.
Care Such a garden does not require complex care. The ornamental plants are already fully formed and need to be trimmed once a year.
Hedges Yew and boxwood hedges, traditional for Europe, do not take root in Russia (in our country they can be a maximum of 50 cm high, so that in winter they must be covered with snow). It is good to make fences in Russia from privet, maple and hawthorn (thanks to its thorns, this fencing option is also functional, in some cases it does not even have to be duplicated with a fence). In this garden, a hedge of decorative apple trees has been planted along the fence. In spring, it is a wall of white and pink flowers. In summer, there is a dense green hedge with many red and yellow apples, and in winter not a single plant can argue with the decorative apple hedge: on the white snow covering the hedge, the fruits left behind in the fall glow.
The most common mistakes made when creating a garden
- Usually people start thinking about a garden after the house has already been built and paths have been laid out on the site. This makes the landscape architect’s job very difficult. Walkways, retaining walls, drainage and garden lighting are best planned at the same time as the home. Only then will the garden properly correlate with the architecture.
- It is widely believed that young planting stock takes root better than an adult. It’s a delusion. Lonely “poked” naked saplings do not cause affection, and it is not known which of them will grow.
- Having stupidly planted trees around the perimeter of the site, you will not hide from your neighbors.
- No matter how trite it may sound, you need to understand that you cannot do without the help of a professional in creating a real garden.
