Lampshade for a table lamp: how to make yourself? Video
It is quite possible to transform a boring table lamp into an original author’s product or give a second life to an old lamp if you make a new lampshade. He will completely transform her, make her a stylish and exclusive thing.

Table lamp with silk shade
To make this new chic lampshade, you will need: – an old table lamp with a lampshade; – a piece of natural silk; – a fringe to match the fabric; – elastic band; – threads and a needle; – a sewing machine.
Remove the lampshade from the lamp. Remove the old material so that only the frame remains. Cut a rectangle out of silk fabric with a width equal to the height of the frame plus 5 cm for the hem, and a length equal to the diameter of the lower part of the frame for the lampshade, plus 2 cm for the seam allowances.
Fold the part in half with the right side inward and sew 1 cm from the cut. Fold the top and bottom sides of the lampshade to the wrong side 2 times and sew a stitch on the sewing machine, leaving 2 cm unstitched.
Insert elastic tape through this hole. Sew the ends and sew the hole with blind stitches. Slide the cover over the frame. Sew a fringe along the bottom edge by hand. A stylish classic lampshade for a table lamp is ready.
Instead of a fringe, you can sew braid or beads on the lampshade
Table lamp with Tiffany lampshade
An exquisite lampshade with antique paintings depicting natural motives will be a wonderful decoration for a classic interior. To make a Tiffany lampshade with your own hands, you will need: – a table lamp with a solid glass shade; – a simple pencil; – an outline for painting; – stained glass paints for painting on glass; – a brush.
Remove the lampshade from the lamp. Draw a drawing on it for painting. Trace the outline of the drawing with a black outline and let it dry. Paint over the space inside the contour with acrylic paints. Let them dry.
For painting, use bright natural shades of green, yellow, ocher, blue
A lamp with such an original shade will decorate your desktop. To make it, take: – a frame in the form of a truncated cone (you can take it from an old lamp); – 2 sheets of parchment paper 0,5 m wide each with a length equal to the height of the frame; – punch or awl; – cord; – glue.
Fold the sheets of parchment paper in neat, even folds. Make 2 holes with a punch or awl: one – at a distance of 0,5 cm from the edge, the second – at a distance of 1 cm from the first hole.
Glue the sheets together by aligning the holes. Pull the cord through the bottom holes. Put the lampshade on the frame, tighten the cord and tie it with a bow. Use threads to tie the lampshade to the frame at the top holes.
