Lady Gaga, Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna – this is not a complete list of star clients of Bea Åkerlund, who calls herself not a stylist, but a “fashion activist”. The collaboration with IKEA became one of Bea’s projects, in which she was able to embody her own design ideas. Called OMEDELBAR, the organic collection includes 29 home furnishings that combine gothic and Hollywood glamor.
The series is literally imbued with the spirit of entertainment and rebellion; One of the key techniques in its creation was experimenting with dimensions. After all, who said that a pocket watch, for example, must fit into a pocket, and not take up half a wall? The collection has everything you need to show your personality – from oversized glass hats to 3D printed red lip-shaped pillows. By the way, red lips are a trademark of Bea Åkerlund’s individual style, who constantly admits that she loves red lipstick so much that she is even ready to sleep with painted lips.
Hats made of glass, which, according to Bea, everyone can use as he pleases – as a vase or, for example, an aquarium for a fish – are also dear to the heart of the shocking diva, because she just loves the Mad Hatter theme from Alice in Wonderland. The designer encourages everyone to be themselves first of all and hopes that the things she creates will help people express their own taste.
“To get the opportunity to create a collection with IKEA and thus share your vision of the world is a dream come true. It is a real happiness for me that I have managed to create products that will be available to a large number of people, ”says Bea Åkerlund.
The limited collection “OMEDELBAR” will appear in all Russian IKEA stores in March 2018.
