Medicinal raw materials contained in Labofarm sedative tablets show not only a calming effect, as their name suggests, but also – due to the rich composition – diastolic, carminative, choleretic, blood pressure lowering and even antiarrhythmic effects. The synergism of the action of medicinal raw materials contained in Labofarm’s calming tablets also allows for a hypnotic effect. Chemical substances contained in plant extracts included in the preparation are responsible for this and not other action of the preparation. These are i.a. flavonoids and alkaloids that seal blood vessels, have a blood pressure lowering and antiarrhythmic effect (motherwort herb), as well as essential oil (lemon balm leaf, valerian root, hops cone). On the other hand, valerenic acids isolated from valerian root show a pronounced anxiolytic effect and reduce states of over-excitation and hysteria. Labofarm sedative tablets are gentle and safe also with prolonged use.
