If you are just going to buy, or have already bought an LG washing machine, then you probably paid attention to its labeling. A set of letters and numbers is reflected on the sticker. But what the encoding is for and what it means, few people know.
You no longer have to collect information bit by bit, in our article we will describe in detail the meaning of each marking symbol for ElGee washing machines.
What does the marking on the LG washing machine mean?
The serial number of models may differ depending on the country of manufacture. The fact is that the decoding of the designations completely depends on the parameters and functionality of the washer. The manufacturer can change these data, adjusting them to the needs of the buyer.
In the United States, machines with huge capacity, mandatory drying and fancy programs are considered in demand. Our users prefer compact models, and standard functions are enough for them. This is how the labels of different manufacturers differ.
Where to look for markings? The lettering sticker can be located on the front panel under the hatch, on the door, on the drain filter hatch, or on the rear panel. If you cannot find it on the case, look immediately in the documents or instructions.
СМА LG encoding for CIS countries
How to determine the country of the manufacturer of equipment? Since the design of the washers is the same, it is not possible to understand where it is made with a visual inspection. The code will help with this.
Consider the example of a model released in 2015 in the CIS.
- The first two letters LG mean the brand of the washing machine.
- Next comes the letter F (depending on the manufacturer, it can be M or E). It means the type of loading – frontal (horizontal). Such machines are considered the most popular in our country.
- The next two digits are 12. They stand for the maximum spin speed – 1200 revolutions. If the number 10 is indicated in this place, it means that the washing machine produces 1000 revolutions, 16 – 1600. The higher the speed, the more efficiently the machine wrings out the laundry.
- How to decipher the next two numbers? The numbers 96 in this case indicate the external design of a particular model. They can and do change if the shape of the sunroof or the display changes.
- Now comes the letter W. Its value will tell the user about the depth of the machine. In this case, W is up to 60 cm, the letter L is a narrow SMA, if it is S, then the washer is super-narrow, only 35 centimeters.
- The next letter is D. This means that the manufacturer used a Direct Drive inverter motor. That is, the engine does not have a drive belt, but is fixed immediately on the drum. Pay attention to this, because such models are the most productive.
- There are two letters left. One of them S (Steam) speaks of the built-in steam processing function. This mode allows you to refresh and disinfect things, ridding them of dust mites.
- If the letter H is present in the marking, then you can dry the laundry in the washing machine.
LG CMA marking for European countries
This encoding is very similar to the domestic one, but there are some differences.
It is clear that the first letters of LG speak of the brand of the machine. The next F means that this washer is front-loading. Two digits 14 – spin at a maximum speed of 1400 rpm. The following are the differences:
- The combination of symbols U2 indicates the type of control – mechanical. Touch control – U1.
- The three letters that follow, this is QCN, indicate the presence of various functions in this model. If there is a steam function, the letter S is at the end.
- The last digit 2 is the color of the washing machine body (white).
If you do not understand how to find out the year of manufacture, take a look at the sticker. The year is indicated in the upper corner on the bottom line.
Detailed decoding of another encoding option using the model as an example F12U2HBS4:
- F12 – front washing machine with spin up to 1200 rpm.
- U2 – touch control type.
- H – depth in millimeters and maximum load in kilograms. H = 450 mm and 7 kg, T = 560 mm and 8 kg.
- B – design. B – Better, C – Good, D – Basic.
- S is the steam function. If instead of it is N, the machine is without steam.
- 4 – color: silver body and chrome door.
Other color code options:
- 0, 3 – white body and white door,
- 1 – white body and silver door,
- 2 – white body and chrome door,
- 5 – silver body and silver door.
In models like F12U2HFNA color is indicated by a letter. A = silver.
CMA LG code for USA
The LG washer code for the United States is significantly different from ours. Americans prefer not only large capacity, but also a different type of installation and loading.
For example, the marking may reflect the way the CMA is mounted on the pedestal. This is done for small washing machines when you need to wash a small amount of laundry.
- The symbol W in the USA means a type of household appliance – a washing machine.
- The second letter M denotes models with horizontal loading. If the letter T is in this place, it means that the loading is vertical, if D, the machine is installed on a pedestal.
- A set of numbers 3370 indicates the model series, as well as the control method (touch, mechanical).
- The letter H will tell you that this model has a steam mode.
- The next letter V is the body color of this model.
- The letter A at the end will tell you that the machine is equipped with a pedestal for installation.
As you can see, the manufacturer’s country symbols are indicated in the upper right corner, so there should not be an error. Now you know what the marking means, this will help you make the right choice.
