Combining the uniqueness of thermal spring water with the exceptional benefits and expertise of sensitive skin specialists, La Roche-Posay Dermatological Laboratory has launched a partnership program of 25 dermatologists worldwide.
We are talking about a real community – the fruit of forty years interaction that went far beyond the daily care of sensitive skin. By working together on exceptional clinical research, combining the expertise of dermatologists, promoting education and social responsibility, day by day we improve the lives of people with sensitive skin, moving hand in hand with the best specialists.
We understand needs – we find solutions
Formulated according to therapeutic guidelines, our skincare products help dermatologists reduce dosages, accurately prescribe treatments, and even relieve patients of some side effectscaused by treatment. Creating formulas that are ideally suited to the tasks of dermatologists in terms of efficacy, tolerability and cosmetic properties allows for a truly professional relationship with physicians. These relationships are essential for every step in skin care product development, from identifying a need to conducting rigorous clinical research.
Our European and Brazilian committee meetings bring together 15 dermatologists from different countries – this opens up invaluable opportunities for exchange of experience and discussions. These discussions allow us to better understand the needs of people with sensitive and blemish-prone skin, as well as those who treat them. The best example of combining the innovative solutions of the La Roche-Posay dermatological laboratory with the knowledge and experience of practicing dermatologists is the Lipikar Baume AP+ emollient body balm, ideal for the care of very dry skin and skin prone to atopy. This remedy was shown to be effective in reducing the frequency of attacks of atopic dermatitis in 1256 children in an observational study in ten countries.1.
Together with dermatologists, we promote social responsibility
The La Roche-Posay Foundation, established in 1995, is a real confirmation of our commitment to the dermatological community. Every year, the foundation issues grants to young researchers and supports socially responsible initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of patients.
Our expertise at the service of professionals
“It all started 15 years ago in Spain with a meeting between the President of the Spanish Dermatological Society and La Roche-Posay Dermatological Laboratory,” recalls Claire Centenac, Director of International Medical Communications at La Roche-Posay. (Claire Sentenac, La Roche-Posay’s International Medical Communication Director). This unprecedented collaboration led to the creation of the Residents’ Class – training program for young dermatologists to raise awareness about the emergence of new approaches to treatment and the need to protect the skin of patients from the sun.
This initiative, now implemented in 18 countries, has set the tone for many other La Roche-Posay programs to support dermatologists in their daily work. Long-term training programs, online courses, scientific publications, corrective make-up workshops, schools for parents of children with atopic dermatitis, Melanoma Days free skin cancer screening program and so on – all these initiatives are aimed at improving the quality of life of people with sensitive or problematic skin, day after day, together with treating professionals.
Dermatologists and us
Our collaboration with dermatologists doesn’t end with the release of our skin care products. Day after day, through our extensive network of medical representatives, we collect information from patients and their physicians about their experiences with our products. This process is necessary in order to expand our knowledge and develop even more effective skin care products.
