PSYchology

Psychologist and outstanding coach Leonid Krol talks about the profession and shares some of his observations.

The new book by Leonid Krol is a real revelation, a kind of anatomy of a profession. The coach appears here as a kind of Sherlock Holmes, who notices the smallest details in the image of a person: the manner of dressing, intonation of speech, subtle gestures. And at the same time — a master of Zen Buddhism, who, if he deems it necessary for the cause, can arrange a provocation or throw an intricate puzzle to the «student». It is no coincidence that Krol himself understands coaching in a broad sense — as a life support of a person, which sometimes goes beyond specific areas, be it business or sexual life. The history of coaching in Russia has a little more than ten years. During this time, there were not so many good books about him. Partly because it is difficult to generalize the experience of coaches, because each approach to the client is individual. Psychologist Leonid Krol also does not go into generalizations, but talks about personal experience. There is theory in his book, but it grows out of practice. The conditional types of the Tin Soldier, Kai and Puss in Boots invented by him are living people with whom he worked for many years.
